Rupert Grint: Promising News about “Enemy of Man”!

OtherMovieNewsIcon2September 9th, 2013, 12:36pm– Finally, we have some good news about what is expected to be Rupert Grint‘s next feature film. Enemy of Man has picked up a distributor and is expected to begin filming in January 2014.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that Kaleidoscope Film Distribution has picked up the rights for worldwide distribution – the film will be directed by Vincent Regan and will star some impressive actors alongside Rupert.

Vincent Regan had this to say about the upcoming production, which is a reworking of the Shakespearean tragedy Macbeth:

Although 400 years old, Shakespeare’s work feels truly contemporary,” Regan said. “An ambitious childless couple; their longing for family replaced by a chilling pursuit of absolute power. Remaining true to its dark heart, we will strip back the dialogue, crank up the action and produce an atmospheric and blood-soaked chiller.

You can read more in the original article here.

Rupert took part in a promo on May 1st of this year where we were lucky enough to get THIS beautiful picture of him where we must presume he’s in full costume as his character Rosse.
We will update when more information becomes available, but this is very promising news about Enemy of Man which Rupert has been attached to star in for a while now.

Rupert Grint’s Super Clyde not picked up by CBS!

SuperClydeIcon2May 11th, 2:54pm, 2013– Unfortunately, news has hit the web tonight that Rupert Grint‘s pilot project Super Clyde has not been picked up by CBS. Yesterday, we got the first signs that it would be very very difficult for the pilot to get picked when The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that four comedies had been picked already (Crazy Ones, The Millers, Mom and We Are Men). There were many very good pilots up for graps this year on CBS, and Super Clyde was just really unlucky not to be picked.

Today several of Rupert‘s cast members on the pilot confirmed the bad news.
Justine Lupe wrote it first:

Sad to say CBS SUPER CLYDE isn’t going on… Grateful to have gotten to have some fun with @TyLabine, @stephenfry &the rest! :)

Tyler Labine was quick to reply:

@iamjustinelupe @stephenfry it was indeed great to get the opportunity to work with you both. Grint too. Everybody was awesome. Truly.

And lastly, Laura Ortiz gave her reaction to the news:

Thank you guys for all the support! it was an amazing project to have been a part of!! #superclyde :(

Of course, this is a huge disappointment for all us Rupert fans, but we have to keep a positive attitude and support Rupert in his future projects – he has an uncanny ability to surprise us, so we can’t wait to see what project will be announced next.
But let’s not remember this project as a disappointment, let’s all go to the galleries and enjoy the lovely pictures we got of Rupert filming in Los Angeles.

As a last effort to support this project and show everyone how much we want it to get made, we will start a little campaign which we hope everyone will take part in – on May 15th we’ll be tweeting FX and TBS in hopes that they consider picking up Super Clyde. To learn more click here.

In other news, we are getting closer and closer to know whether or not Super Clyde is picked up by CBS. All we can do is cross our fingers, but luckily lots of buzz has surrounded the show in the media. You can vote for Super Clyde as the pilot you most want to be made into a series here as well as read the positives vs. the negatives of the pilot.

Furthermore, you can enjoy four screenshots of Rupert at last week’s British Animal Honours where he presented the very first honour of the night – check them out in the gallery here. A video of his appearance is not yet available, but we will update if we get our hands on it.

Rupert Grint: CBGB Creating Buzz in the Media!

June 5th, 2012, 4:10am– Rupert Grint‘s next big project, CBGB, is already creating a lot of buzz in the media before filming is set to begin later this month.

Firstly, chud.com has a lengthy article about the history of CBGB, Hilly Kristal and the town of Savannah playing a prominent role in the production of the movie. It features a lot of interesting pictures from the rock club during its most popular time, so it is definitely worth a look. The article mentions the impressive cast that the people behind the movie has started to gather, and of course our very own Rupert Grint gets an honorable mention:

Obviously some musicians with big personalities will figure into Kristal’s story, and it’s here that the film will be a playground of cameos. Word is that actors and rockstars alike are tripping over themselves to nab roles as famous rock pioneers, and I can say with certainty that some big names are right on the edge of being announced. Already we know Rupert Grint (another Harry Potter alumni, along with Rickman) will play Cheetah Chrome, who served as a guitarist for The Dead Boys at the beginning of his own long career in punk and rock music.

This coincides with a new article from The Hollywood Reporter that can reveal many more impressive names to the cast list, including Johnny Galecki, best known as Leonard Hofstadter in The Big Bang Theory, and Taylor Hawkins, the drummer from Foo Fighters. You can read about these two and the many other actors that have secured a role in CBGB here.

Malin Akerman, who is playing Blondie singer Debbie Harry in CBGB, did an interview with MTV where she reveales some tidbits about the film and even mentions Rupert! Check it out here.

Lastly, if any fans would like to be in a movie with Rupert Grint and the legendary Alan Rickman, you can read this article about the open casting call in Savannah where you can become an extra in CBGB. Exciting!
