Rupert Grint on The Andrew Marr Show!

MojoNewsIcon2November 10th, 2013, 5:52am– This morning, Rupert Grint appeared on The Andrew Marr Show on BBC One. He was interviewed in the beautiful Harold Pinter Theatre where he is currently playing Sweets on stage in Mojo.

Rupert talked about what it’s like to be on stage, calling it “thrilling” – but he also said that he had never thought stage work was something he would do since he’s a nervous person in general (we would just like to add that we’re SO happy Rupert decided to do this!!).
We also find out how he deals with being recognized everywhere as well as what it was like playing Cheetah Chrome in CBGB.
We are working on getting this lovely interview online for all of you to see. You can now watch the interview below:

Rupert Grint Talks With Huffington Post About CBGB, Halloween, and Accents!

cbgb icon3October 12th, 2013, 11:27am–Continuing from yesterday’s amazing interview, Rupert Grint and Alan Rickman sat down with The Huffington Post to talk about CBGB as promotion continues for the film which will hit more theaters this weekend. In this lovely new interview we learn all about how Halloween was for Rupert including how he never got to trick-or-treat as a kid, that he made his own Play-Doh costume, and his favorite Halloween candy. Rupert also talks about reuniting with Alan as well as who else he’d love to reunite with. And he answers whether he likes stage or film better.

Are you enjoying the theater work? Are you more of a theater guy or a film guy?

Grint: I don’t know, really. This is my first theater experience, and it’s very different. I wanted to just try it; it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. Just the thought of it scares me. I’ve kind of put it off for a long time, and I just thought it was a good time to do it. And it’s a great play and a really great cast with a great director, and it was just, yeah, I’m enjoying it.

Now for something more fun. It’s October. What’s your favorite Halloween costume you’ve ever worn?

Grint: I liked Halloween. It never used to be a big thing when I was kid. We never really did it. But I actually had a good costume not that long ago. The last one, I dressed as a Play-Doh can that I made. You know Play-Doh?

Of course.

Grint: Well, literally, I actually made it. It was a yellow bin. I cut the bottom out and I just wore a yellow bin with a Play-Doh logo. With a yellow hat. It’s not very practical.

Rupert Grint: I’m Not Trying To Shock People Or Make A Big Statement!

cbgb icon3August 7th, 2013, 2:40pm–In a brand new interview with USA Today, Rupert Grint talks about CBGB, Mojo, and his current taste in roles. On CBGB he said:

“It’s not really that I am trying to shock people or make a big statement,” says Grint, “It’s just part of moving on.”

USA Today continued in confirming a scene where Rupert, as Cheetah Chrome, drops his pants to prove he’s a real ginger. And during a show one of the The Dead Boys band members engages in a sexual act on stage.

He also talks about his West End debut playing petty crook and drug addict Sweets and had this to say about it:

“This is a completely new thing, a whole new level,” says Grint. “It does scare me. That’s kind of a reason why I want to do it.”

Don’t forget that either today or tomorrow the CBGB trailer will debut on Entertainment Tonight. The show is syndicated so check your local listings as what time it comes on. We will have the trailer up as soon as possible.

Cheetah Chrome Is Looking Forward To Meeting Rupert Grint!

June 15th, 2012, 3:49pm–With 10 days left before filming starts on June 25th, the news came out today that Cheetah Chrome, who Rupert Grint will be portraying in the CBGB movie, will be making a cameo appearance in the film. Savannah Now has an article out with a quote from the movie’s director Randall Miller saying: “Cheetah is looking forward to meeting his seven-year-old son’s big screen idol.” Who could blame him for idolizing Rupert? I know none of us object! In the same article you can read about a few local college students in Savannah who will be in the movie which includes the drummer for The Dead Boys here.

In other casting news Donal Logue (possibly best known for his role on TV show Grounded For Life) will play Merv Ferguson, the right-hand man for Hilly Kristal. Also The Dead Boys front man Stiv Bators has been cast with actor Justin Bartha best known for his roles in The Hangover movies and the National Treasure movies.

UPDATE: A new interview with Randall Miller has popped up where it talks about the process of CBGB coming together and also just touches a bit on The Drummer. Since it doesn’t specifically mention to much of Rupert I am just updating this news post with it for those who are interested. There is a tid bit that suggest The Dead Boys will be a large part of this particular story of CBGB and Hilly’s legacy. You can read all about it here. The Drummer is currently looking for a fall shoot at the moment.
