October 8th, 2013, 10:37pm–In what has been a trifecta of news that included a new interview and the Charlie Countryman trailer, we now have some more great news! You may remember a few days ago we let you know that Rupert Grint‘s Super Clyde would be available online at CBS‘s website. True to their word, they have released it. You can watch it here! This is 22 minutes of pure fun and I’m glad that they decided to let us see this gem. Please let us know in the comments what your favorite scene is! Unfortunately CBS has blocked those from other countries. Hopefully a new way will be found for you all. In the mean time though, check out these wonderful stills that have been released right here. I think we can all agree that CBS should have taken a chance on this wonderful show!
October 6th, 2013, 4:40am– We were all so excited when Rupert Grint was cast as the lead in the CBS pilot Super Clyde, and we were all so disappointed when the show wasn’t picked up for a full series. However, we will now all be able to watch the one episode that Rupert actually shot in Los Angeles in March and April of this year.
The show’s creator Greg Garcia was asked about his projects on reddit.com during an “Ask me Anything” session:
I shot a single camera pilot recently called Super Clyde starring Rupert Grint that didn’t get picked up, but I’m very happy to say that CBS is going to put it on the internet on October 9th — both on CBS.com and a bunch of other places. I was really happy with the way it turned out, so I’m excited people are going to see it. The Millers is taking up a lot of my time right now, but I do have a few things in development that I’m supervising. They are all in the early stages.
So, we only have to wait a few days before we finally get to see Super Clyde – how exciting!
And if Greg Garcia‘s words aren’t enough to convince you that this is really happening, take a look at this screenshot from the CBS official site:
We can’t wait!
May 13th, 2013, 11:20am– On Saturday Rupert Grint attended The Door Youth Project Charity Concert at the Sub Rooms in Stroud. He was there to support his sister Samantha who was playing with her band Ghost of Samantha. Today, we have several pictures from the event of Rupert politely taking pictures with fans and performers. He is looking happy and it is so lovely to see him support his family in all their endeavours.
Rupert‘s appearance at the event also made the local news and Stroud News & Journal describes Rupert like this:
Wearing a black t-shirt with ‘Hormones’ written across in the style of the famous Ramones logo, skinny jeans and a hoodie, he was accompanied by his mum and dad.
You can see all of Tammy Lynn‘s pictures from the event in our gallery here.
In Super Clyde news, the show’s comic book illustrator, Mark Wheatley, posted his amazing drawing of Rupert as Clyde in comic book form on his facebook page. You can view the full size image in our gallery here. He added the following along with the picture which gives us hope that other networks are looking into the pilot.
SUPER CLYDE – so CBS passed on the show and now other networks are taking a look. Greg Garcia, Rupert Grint, Stephen Fry, Tyler Labine and the entire incredible cast and crew created a really sweet pilot. Hard to believe it is having any problem finding a home. I had a great time working with these people!
We are still going through with our Super Clyde Campaign which you can read all about here.
May 11th, 2:54pm, 2013– Unfortunately, news has hit the web tonight that Rupert Grint‘s pilot project Super Clyde has not been picked up by CBS. Yesterday, we got the first signs that it would be very very difficult for the pilot to get picked when The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that four comedies had been picked already (Crazy Ones, The Millers, Mom and We Are Men). There were many very good pilots up for graps this year on CBS, and Super Clyde was just really unlucky not to be picked.
Today several of Rupert‘s cast members on the pilot confirmed the bad news.
Justine Lupe wrote it first:
Sad to say CBS SUPER CLYDE isn’t going on… Grateful to have gotten to have some fun with @TyLabine, @stephenfry &the rest!
Tyler Labine was quick to reply:
@iamjustinelupe @stephenfry it was indeed great to get the opportunity to work with you both. Grint too. Everybody was awesome. Truly.
And lastly, Laura Ortiz gave her reaction to the news:
Thank you guys for all the support! it was an amazing project to have been a part of!! #superclyde
Of course, this is a huge disappointment for all us Rupert fans, but we have to keep a positive attitude and support Rupert in his future projects – he has an uncanny ability to surprise us, so we can’t wait to see what project will be announced next.
But let’s not remember this project as a disappointment, let’s all go to the galleries and enjoy the lovely pictures we got of Rupert filming in Los Angeles.
As a last effort to support this project and show everyone how much we want it to get made, we will start a little campaign which we hope everyone will take part in – on May 15th we’ll be tweeting FX and TBS in hopes that they consider picking up Super Clyde. To learn more click here.
April 24, 2013, 3:24pm– The wait is finally over – we now have the awesome character poster featuring Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome. The Hollywood Reporter has previously released several cool posters depicting Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristal, Ashley Greene as Lisa Kristal, Joel David Moore as Joey Ramone, Mickey Summer as Patti Smith and Justin Bartha as Dead Boys lead singer Stiv Bators. But now the day has come which all us Rupert Grint fans have been waiting for.
Rupert is looking very rock’n'roll on this poster – let us know what you think in the comments. You can see a larger version of the poster in the gallery here.
In other news, we are getting closer and closer to know whether or not Super Clyde is picked up by CBS. All we can do is cross our fingers, but luckily lots of buzz has surrounded the show in the media. You can vote for Super Clyde as the pilot you most want to be made into a series here as well as read the positives vs. the negatives of the pilot.
Furthermore, you can enjoy four screenshots of Rupert at last week’s British Animal Honours where he presented the very first honour of the night – check them out in the gallery here. A video of his appearance is not yet available, but we will update if we get our hands on it.
