Alas, we are in no way affiliated with Rupert, his family or representatives. (*sob*) The site is ad-free and non-profit. October 3, 2009, 7:00pm–We are real excited to announce that the US petition for Rupert Grint‘s movie Cherrybomb has reached 5,000 signatures! This has taken us about 5 months to accumulate without much help from major websites. We average about 1,000 signatures a month! Lately our petition efforts have made it into the mainstream which has really helped push over the edge! We’re extremely excited and can’t wait to see how many more signatures we can get and how far we can raise the other countries. Remember we have the UK (which is reaching about 1500 signatures), Brazil (which is nearing 3,000 signatures), Germany (which is nearing 500 signatures), Italy and France (both of which are nearing 400 signatures), and Australia and Asia (which are both nearing 200 signatures). You can also help out on some of our petition challenges at the Cherrybomb petition website or go here to sign the petition closest to your country!
In other news, you may have seen that Rupert’s name has recently popped up about a movie biopic about Prince Harry. We can confirm that Rupert currently has nothing else going on, but we cannot confirm whether anyone is considering him and could approach him. We also cannot confirm whether he and his Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire co-star Robert Pattinson would be vying for the role. If we do find out anything different, we’ll let you know! We are discussing the possibility of Rupert being attached to this movie so if you’d like to join us head on over here!
UPDATE: The Prince Harry news actually made it into print! Thanks Ki for sending these over from the Daily Star. View in our gallery here! Also Ki sent us some scans on the news about Rupert’s hot mansion purchase. Nice little pad there and well deserved. Read about it here.
May 23, 2009, 6:56 AM–Many thanks to Kathy for discovering this article that we have somehow missed. In it, Robert Pattinson shared his experiences from the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire set, and commented on what it was like working with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and the rest of HP regulars. Robert said:
“I didn’t notice the transition to being accepted, but they are all really nice people. [...] We did a bonding week where we made fools of ourselves doing lots of improvising. I paired up with Rupert a lot.
“All the cast are really nice but they are always busy, always, always on set.”
Also, the recently released Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince clip has generated lots of positive buzz, especially for Rupert. This article especially made us cheer:
“The first clip, a full-length scene dubbed I’m in love with her, involves a somewhat loopy Ron Weasley professing his love for Romilda Vane to a decidedly befuddled Harry. (That Rupert Grint has really filled out, hasn’t he? Kid looks like a linebacker – or at least a very fit placekicker.)”
Well spotted indeed, Hollywood.com! We couldn’t agree more!
Thanks Yolanda for sharing.
April 21, 2009, 4:30 PM–Deathly Hallows news keep flooding, but I felt this deserved a separate post. Congratulations Rupert’s Army — we did it! Rupert Grint tops the “make it or break it” poll conducted by Cineplex! Rupert beat out the Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Disney stars Miley Cyrus and co. and even his Harry Potter co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson — thanks to all of you who voted for him. Here’s what the Cineplex folks had to say:
“Judging from the overwhelming response to this poll, many of these young actors and actresses have a very successful future ahead of them (or at least devoted fans who will be there to help support them along the way) but it ultimately came down to just two actors battling it out for the coveted top spot. Fans of both Rupert Grint and Robert Pattinson have been voting like mad over the past week and when all was said and done and the dust had settled, Rupert (and his Army) came out the victor with 8552 votes over Robert’s 7711 votes. So it would seem that Rupert Grint is your choice for the most likely to succeed in establishing a long-term career.”
“Look for Robert in the Salvador Dali biopic Little Ashes and in the highly anticipated Twilight sequel, New Moon while Rupert is set to hit the big screen again in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and then in the indie pic Cherrybomb.”
Well done Rupert’s Army! Consider this a warm up for some bigger polls to come. Oh, and some of your comments are featured, so read the entire thing here.
