March 31, 2009, 8:39 AM–Yesterday evening, the UK premiere of Rupert Grint`s new film Cherrybomb took place at the Jameson Belfast Film Festival, and half of the ICM staff were present: namely, Tao, Jo, Karo, AJ and special guest star Soph (and another guest star — Tao’s mom!)

Although the main cast Rupert Grint, Robert Sheehan, Kimberley Nixon and James Nesbitt could not attend the screening due to other commitments, we had the pleasure to meet and talk to directors Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa. We can happily tell you that they are in negotiations with a distributor!

We also spoke to composer David Holmes, who told us that the soundtrack will be released eventually!

On Sunday, we toured a majority of the filming locations of Cherrybomb and our two wonderful tour guides gave us lots of information about the shoot, the film and Rupert Grint, which we are going to share with you soon, together with the rest of the exclusives. So stay tuned!

And finally, a big THANK YOU to everyone involved with Cherrybomb for making our time in Belfast such an unforgettable experience!

UPDATE: Jameson Belfast Film Festival has just announced that additional tickets have been put up on sale for tomorrow’s screening of Cherrybomb! You may purchase them online here.
And don’t forget to listen to the interview with Lisa Barros D’Sa, where she reveals the movie’s original title — it’s right here!

February 4, 2009, 6:43 PM–Earlier this month we informed you that Rupert Grint along with cast and crew would be attending the world premiere of Cherrybomb, and we have just received word that there will be a full fledged red carpet event that will take place at Babylon where the film will be showing! ICM will be there to interview and bring you all of the latest.  After the movie shows the floor will also open up for our questions to Rupert and his co-stars, so send in those last minute questions before we jet off! Also, make sure you’re on the site during the event as we plan to have a surprise that keeps you folks back at home well informed on the action as it happens!

As for Dublin, Rupert will not be in attendance for this event. We received that information a couple of weeks ago but held off to see if anything would change. Sadly it hasn’t, but ICM staffer Ivana has been given press privileges so if you have any questions for Kimberley Nixon, Robert Sheehan and the directors send them in!

PS- Don’t forget to check out our Cherrybomb countdown page. We’ve added some more interesting tidbits. It will all make sense soon. We promise!

UPDATE: The Berlinale is about to begin, so everyone wanting to watch the red carpet, check out the Berlinale Live Stream here!

UPDATE 2: The Berlin Film Festival has now officially been opened!

Kimberley Nixon And James Nesbitt Discuss Rupert Grint And Cherrybomb!

January 30, 2009, 3:05 AM–Recently an interview has been conducted with Rupert Grint‘s Cherrybomb co-stars Kimberley Nixon (Michelle) and James Nesbitt (Crilly). They talked about the movie, the cast and many other things! For your reading pleasure, we have selected here all excerpts that have to do with Rupert Grint and/or his character Malachy, and his interaction with Luke and Michelle.

Kimberley Nixon said that her character Michelle is a real catalyst for what happens, as she seduces both boys: “I suppose she does go for Malachy but she was quite partial to Luke so she just sort of test drives him too. I think the boys she has always gone for in the past are like Luke and then she meets Malachy he has something different about him and she can’t quite get him out of her head. And also Malachy is better looking!

In Kimberley’s opinion, Michelle’s domestic situation helps her relate both to Malachy and Luke: “She’s got the nice home like Malachy has, but also the lack of authority figure like Luke is dealing with – so she can relate to both boys whereas they cannot relate to each others family lives.”

o7m0m1 January 29, 2009, 6:41pm–While we have seen each of these stills – featuring Rupert Grint, Robert Sheehan, Kimberley Nixon, and James Nesbitt – we now have them in high quality for your viewing pleasure. The first one is of Malachy, Michelle and Luke in the pool, the three of them talking (which was originally posted by MTV), and the other of Michelle and Crilly in a discussion in her bedroom. In addition we also have a high quality still with Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa directing a scene from the film which seems to include the pool area where we see the trio floating in rafts. You may now view these wonderful stills in our galleries here.

“Meanwhile, Michelle’s father’s penchant for local girls threatens to catch up with him”
