August 29th, 9:49pm–Exciting news has come out for those with DirecTV Video on Demand. Starting September 5th and going through October 2nd DirecTV will be allowing customers who get VOD to watch Rupert Grint’s CBGB before anyone else! The movie for the high-def version will cost $10.99 and $9.99 for the standard definition. This is a great way for anyone in the US to support Rupert’s newest venture who may fear that they may not get the film in their part of town. To read more about it please head on over to Deadline for all the details. Don’t forget that the movie will be premiering October 9th at the CBGB festival (unfortunately Rupert will not be able to attend due to Mojo commitments) and opening in theaters on October 11th. We will have a list of theaters when available, so stay tuned!
April 5th, 2013, 9:21pm–For those in the US who may not be able to see Rupert Grint‘s Into The White in theaters due to its very limited run can rest easy, the Blu-Ray is slated for June 4th, 2013 according to Blu-Ray.com. However, there is more! According to High Def Digest the US blu-ray will have some very promising features: A Making of Into The White, AVX TV’s A Look At: Into The White, and the original theatrical trailer. You can pre-order this at Amazon.com. (Note: Amazon has the the release date listed for June 25th, but because June 4th is listed by two separate but respectable places, we believe this date over Amazon’s.) But fret not, those who do not own a blu-ray player can still enjoy it. Amazon has the DVD available for pre-order here.
And that’s not all! For those in and around the Columbus, OH area will get their chance to see the film on the big screen on April 12th at Gateway Film Center 8. When more locations and dates are announced we will be sure to pass them along. Stay tuned!
In other news, Vulture.com has a piece out about the 2013-2014 pilot season’s most promising and Super Clyde is the #1 show listed! You can read all about the pilots they think highly of here and this is the excerpt about Super Clyde:
This was my favorite comedy and maybe my favorite script this year, period. An awkward orphan fast-food employee (Grint) suddenly comes into a huge amount of money and decides to spend it on becoming a secret superhero. It’s sweet and earnest — very Raising Hope — and silly and surprising. It might be a little too tender for this harsh world, but maybe some Harry Potter magic can get people to tune in.
Let’s hope that everyone in charge of deciding whether Super Clyde gets picked up agrees!
And finally, The Hollywood Reporter is releasing exclusive posters from CBGB. So far Malin Ackerman as Debbie Harry and Joel David Moore as Johnny Ramone have been released. They will be released at least three new posters (one for each day). We’re not sure if Rupert will be among them, but keep your eye out and we’ll post about it asap!
And don’t forget to sign up with PointBurst for your chance to get exclusive content, signed copies of the movie and soundtrack, and win tickets to the world premiere! You can do so by going here. And if you haven’t already, go ahead and ‘like’ the official CBGB facebook. Their goal for the weekend is to hit 7500 likes! Help them out!
UPDATE: Some more buzz about Super Clyde via Deadline.
March 16, 2013, 3:47pm– Today, we are ready to bring something back that was very popular among all you lovely Rupert Grint fans a little while ago: our beloved forum. We have had it under construction for some time, but we finally think that it’s time to bring it back so that we can all discuss everything Rupert related in the same place. Rupert has so many projects recently finished, not yet released or just about to begin. So we want to discuss and analyze all of Rupert‘s projects with you all, whether it be his former projects like Harry Potter or Driving Lessons, or his new and exciting releases like CBGB or The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, or the fact that Stephen Fry has just been confirmed to star alongside Rupert in Super Clyde. So join us and have some fun talking about everything and anything Rupert right HERE – it should be easy for everyone to sign up, but if you have any questions or problems, don’t hesitate to write us here in the comments or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To start everyone off, why don’t we go to the forums and discuss Rupert‘s brilliant Scouse accent in Into the White, which is perfectly depicted in this new clip released from the film:
March 8th, 2013, 12:43am–Two things that came out in the past few hours featuring Rupert Grint‘s latest work. First off is an exclusive clip that MTV obtained from Into The White that will be released in the US in April, but is currently available to rent on iTunes for $9.99. The clip is quite spoilery, so I suggest that if you don’t want to know any major plot points of the movie do not watch this clip! But for those who do not care, the clip is fantastic and shows just how great the movie is. You can view the clip here.
You may also remember that Rupert narrated the documentary “We Are Aliens” which is currently playing in many areas. The official website for the movie has all the clips up and you can go to their site here to watch. At the bottom of the page is a link to download all the clips. Enjoy!
Last, but not least, Rupert’s Super Clyde co-star Justine Lupe tweeted earlier today that they are beginning to film the pilot for the show! Let’s hope that CBS picks this up for the fall! (If you’re wondering, we should know no later than May on whether CBS picks up the show.)
UPDATE: You can now see another new clip from Into the White, courtesy of Movieweb.com right HERE which features Rupert in an intense confrontation with David Kross. They have also made a featurette where the film is reviewed – check that out below and remember to watch this “profound and powerful tale” in theatres, on iTunes or even on DVD:
