August 25, 2009, 6:55 AM–While we continue to celebrate Rupert Grint‘s 21st birthday, it’s the perfect time to remind you just how well his latest film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is doing! According to IMDB, as of past weekend, Half-Blood Prince has surpassed the second and third installments of the Harry Potter saga on the worldwide box office, and is now sitting at the #12 spot of the all-time list, just behind Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! (And since HBP is still playing in cinemas worldwide, it is likely to surpass GOF in a few days.) As for the US box office, Half-Blood Prince is currently ranked at #34 of the all-time list, and it is almost certain to hit the $300 million mark in a week or two.
Congratulations to Rupert, his co-stars and the entire team behind this incredibly successful movie.
Let me remind you to check out Lilly‘s birthday artworks — she has now posted her drawings with comments and background stories in her fanart forum thread (starting from here) and also on her Live Journal. Please leave your comments, she will surely appreciate them!
Oh, and I’ve just added another small photo from the V Festival here — HQs coming soon!
UPDATE: Speaking of Half-Blood Prince, the movie blog Boxwish discusses the Trio’s styles in the movies, and even gives some advise on how to get Ron Weasley’s trademark look!
Being the youngest boy in the Weasley family, he makes do in hand-me-downs and with his big family strapped for cash, mixes this with homemade knitted efforts created by his mum, Mrs Weasley (Julie Walters). As such Ron’s look is less contemporary and high street than that of Harry, and despite the stick he gets for it, we think it suits him pretty nicely.
First off, by wearing cast-offs, Ron’s look acquires a very old-school, retro feel. It’s there in the colour palette (browns, greens, oranges – all neatly complementing his red hair), the fabrics (corduroy) and the items themselves – polo shirts, bobble hats and contrast trim vests. Creating another interesting distinction between the simple, block colour fashions of Harry is Ron’s love of prints and patterns, which lean heavily towards horizontal stripes. It all works together to reflect the colourful yet complex character that is Ron Weasley.
Go here, and you can even order a brown jumper similar to the one Ronpert is wearing in HBP!
UPDATE 2: And in honour of Half-Blood Prince’s success, we have just updated our Rave Reviews section with seven new reviews! Read the critics’ latest words of praise for Rupert here.
UPDATE 3: Finally a new V-Festival picture is available from “The Company”, who were lucky to sit next to Rupes during lunch. They report that Rupert was constantly being hounded by people. View the photos in our gallery.
