August 6, 2009, 5:55 AM–Our friends at Oclumencia have found some new/old HQ photos from the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix set. Two of them feature Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley: in the first one you can see Rupert in the background (while David Yates is giving instructions to Daniel Radcliffe and William Melling) , and the second is a great photo of the entire Dumbledore’s Army cast celebrating Katie Leung’s birthday!

Also, you might have noticed that we have a new forum layout! If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check out our “Rupert Grint Lounge” and, of course, join the discussions! And thanks to all forum members who gave us feedback and helped us come up with the best possible layout!

Oh, and if you want to take part in our projects — birthday presents for Rupert — please hurry, the deadline to send your photos via e-mail is tomorrow! I have just added Val’s photos to our Blag Around The World gallery, and you can also see all the latest Converse pics in our forum starting from here.

Rupert Grint: Total Film Magazine And New Promotional Clip!

June 20 2009, 12:16PM– Total Film Magazine has compiled a slide show of what should not have been cut from the Harry Potter films, and Rupert Grint’s turn at playing Quidditch in Order of the Phoenix is listed among them! As stated by the magazine’s website, “Quidditch was a casualty in Order Of The Phoenix. An entire comedy subplot about Ron becoming the unlikely Keeper in the Gryffindor Quidditch team was completely excised, to the disappointment of Rupert Grint, who’d been looking forward to some broom action.”

Sure we have King Weasley in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, but just image how it would have been to have had two movies full of Ron in his quidditch robes!

You can view the entire slide show via this link. Thanks TLC.

And this just in……. A “NEW” video of Rupert in a Mexican Promotional clip for Half Blood Prince is now available online! He even translates what he says in Spanish! Very cute and a must see! Check it out on youtube here! UPDATE: You can also now download it here!

Reminder: For those of you who will be in New York on July 8th , London on July 7th, or Japan on July 6th for the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince premieres, don’t forget to check out and post to our Harry Potter HBP Premiere plans Thread in the forum. We’d love to meet you!

June 06, 2009, 12:10 AM–In 2007 we organized the first ever Rupert Grint fan convention in Los Angeles for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and it was a great success! Among other things, we attended the OotP premiere and the Hand/Feet/Wand ceremony — you may view our photos here, and the exclusive H/F/W videos here. So of course this year we’re going to be doing the exact same thing — only we will be expanding! We will be including a UK leg of this convention headed up by our lovely staffers Ivana and Karo, who have also put into great detail their plans for “set tour” visits to various locations of not only where Harry Potter is filmed but also Thunderpants, Driving Lessons and Wild Target!

If you are interested in joining us, we have set up an itinerary page that we plan to update regularly with the latest plans.  We also have an active thread on our forum to discuss plans and you’re welcome to email us with any other questions staff@rupert-grint.us Click below for full details.

We hope to see you there!

Update: We now have opened THREE NEW STAFFER POSITIONS! If you are interested in joining the ICM team then click here!

Update 2: We have added a few more scans from the Italian sticker book to our gallery here — including a hilarious shot of Ron almost falling off his broom!

Thanks to our friends at Portkey.it!

Update 3: Hottopic has released a new HBP shirt featuring the whole cast including Ron! You can purchase it here!

David Yates Praises Rupert Grint!

» April 30 by Ivana in Rupert News with 4 Comments

April 30, 2009, 5:24 AM–David Yates, who directed the latest two films in the Harry Potter franchise (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and is currently shooting Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I has been interviewed by Baltimore Sun. He discussed his approach to these movies, working with Jim Broadbent, and of course the leading trio. Unsurprisingly, Yates had nothing but words of praise for Rupert Grint, especially when it comes to his role in the upcoming Deathly Hallows:

He (Yates) loves the “comic gear changes” he’s been watching Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson pull off as Harry and Hermione grow into adolescence. And he’s particularly proud of the way Rupert Grint has filled out the part of that archetypal Brit public-school scamp Ron Weasley.

“He’s always been the funny one, but he has so much more as an actor than that. In Prince, he has lovely stuff that’s funny and true, but in Deathly Hallows, he must be defensive and haunted, and Rupert took to that like a duck to water. I’m always thankful that Jo Rowling gave us a world that allowed us to turn corners with the actors.”
