Rupert Grint: School’s in Session!

» December 13 by Majbritt in HP News, Rupert News with 4 Comments

December 13th, 2011, 5:22PM– Tuesday morning turned out to be quite a day for all the pupils at a school in Sutton Coldfield, UK. They got a surprise visit from none other than two of the Harry Potter series’ Weasley boys, Rupert Grint and Oliver Phelps.

The reason behind this visit was the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 online competition from Warner Bros and Sainsbury where a lucky winner could get a surprise appearance by Rupert Grint in school. The lucky winner was the 17 year old Sarah Cotter – and not only did all the pupils at Bishop Walsh School get this extraordinary day at school with Rupert Grint and the surprise guest Oliver Phelps – the entire school also received a copy of the Deathly Hallows Part 2. The two participated in a panel chat and signed copies of the last Harry Potter film.

What a day, huh? :-)

You can see a short interview with Rupert and Oliver from BBC here. Also, you can see a lot of cool pictures from the event in our Gallery here. Enjoy! :-)

Rupert Grint on Live! with Regis and Kelly!

» July 11 by Majbritt in HP News, Rupert News with 12 Comments

July 11, 2011, 2:51PM — Finally, we have the pleasure of showing you Rupert Grint‘s interview with Regis and Kelly. One of the things, Rupert talks about, is the puberty years on set of Harry Potter – going from being 10 years on set to the puberty years where hormones, pimples, tears and angst take over.

“Yeah, it could happen. You see the awkward stages and I know our voices breaking was a worry for the editors.”

Speaking of hormones taking over, Rupert was also asked if he had ever fallen in love with any of his co-stars on the set – and of course the big kiss was bound to be mentioned:

“It was a tricky one to make it look like we wanted to kiss each other. We actually both… didn’t. So it was a tricky one to get right. And it’s such an anticipated moment, because this relationship has been building for so long.”

You can watch the entire interview here:

UPDATE: Ole Kloster, a Danish journalist from the tv station, TV2, was present on the red carpet in London when the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 took over the city. He talks about this experience on his blog, where he also comments on Rupert‘s pleasant demeanour:

“I begin with Rupert Grint who plays Harry’s close friend, Ron. He is friendly, approachable and tries hard without delivering answers that will shock or provoke anyone. A lot of people have written him out of a future in acting – including yours truly – but now I’m not so sure anymore. The boy has grown up and has developed a character, but he’s still a happy boy without any pretentious qualities.”

Thanks to Malene for finding this. :-)
