Fredrik Bond & James Buckley talk Rupert Grint in a New Interview!

» January 30 by Malene in Rupert News, The Necessary Death of CC News with 1 Comment »

January 30, 2013, 6:27pm– Rupert Grint gets a lot of praise by director Fredrik Bond and co-star James Buckley in a new interview done by collider.com done during the Sundance Film Festival.

Bond: When everybody started working it was like being creative people, all the ‘celebrity’ part of it disappears out the window, it’s about here and now and what we’re working completely. And you know the whole cast that we had was exactly like that. Shia didn’t come with an assistant, Evan didn’t come with an assistant, it was just about the work. It was just getting it, and Mads Mikkelsen the same thing.

Buckley: And Rupert the same thing.

Bond: Rupert as well.

Buckley: I keep forgetting that he’s a mega, mega star.

Bond: Me too!

Buckley: It’s so easy to just forget that. Cause you just talk to him and he’s just so nice and so fun to be around, like you go for a beer with him afterwards and stuff and he’s just again, he’s just a bloke. And then you forget that his films have just smashed every record that exists and that everyone on the planet knows who he is. It was really lucky, it was so great that everyone was on the same page and wanted the same thing.

You can read the rest of the interview in our Press Archives here. It’s a lovely interview and we get a great insight into the filming of The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.

The International Premiere of The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman at Berlinale is just over a week away and it looks to be a great event with Rupert, Shia LaBeouf, Evan Rachel Wood, Til Schweiger and Fredrik Bond all attending the premiere. Read all the details here.

Rupert Grint: The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman Article Round-Up!

» January 18 by Malene in Rupert News, The Necessary Death of CC News with 6 Comments

January 18, 2013, 10:40am– Rupert Grint‘s latest movie, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, is only three days away from premiering at the Sundance Film Festival. And the good news is that the media world is buzzing with anticipation for the film and seem almost as excited as us.

Entertainment Weekly has just published a brand new interview with Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood where they talk about the film and gives us a great insight into the crazy experience we have in store when watching the film. And our very own Rupert gets an honourable mention from the lovely Evan:

Wood compares the film to 1993 Quentin Tarantino-penned romantic crime thriller True Romance. “It has a vibe of True Romance. It’s a passionate, tender love story surrounded by chaos, violence, and crime,” she says. And, like True Romance, it also has moments of humor. Wood said Rupert Grint’s part in the film helps the actor shed his Harry Potter stigma and added a lightness to the dark movie. “Rupert Grint is amazing in this film. It was such a brilliant idea to cast him. It’s hilarious.”

Wow! You can read the entire article HERE and even see a new image from the film of a bloody Shia LaBeouf. It’s a great read.

Director Fredrik Bond has also been quoted in various articles and his enthusiasm is obvious and almost contagious:
He is quoted in Screendaily as saying: “We shot in the summer in Bucharest over 34 days,” says Bond. “It was the best experience ever.”
And in Variety: “It’s a wild ride, and that’s what was so fun about it, there are very few scripts I read where it’s a real bouncy, dynamic ride.”

We will update more on The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman when more news and reviews will start to appear after its premiere as well as further news regarding its International Premiere at Berlinale.
