Rupert Grint: The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman Article Round-Up!

» January 18 by Malene in Rupert News, The Necessary Death of CC News with 6 Comments

January 18, 2013, 10:40am– Rupert Grint‘s latest movie, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, is only three days away from premiering at the Sundance Film Festival. And the good news is that the media world is buzzing with anticipation for the film and seem almost as excited as us.

Entertainment Weekly has just published a brand new interview with Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood where they talk about the film and gives us a great insight into the crazy experience we have in store when watching the film. And our very own Rupert gets an honourable mention from the lovely Evan:

Wood compares the film to 1993 Quentin Tarantino-penned romantic crime thriller True Romance. “It has a vibe of True Romance. It’s a passionate, tender love story surrounded by chaos, violence, and crime,” she says. And, like True Romance, it also has moments of humor. Wood said Rupert Grint’s part in the film helps the actor shed his Harry Potter stigma and added a lightness to the dark movie. “Rupert Grint is amazing in this film. It was such a brilliant idea to cast him. It’s hilarious.”

Wow! You can read the entire article HERE and even see a new image from the film of a bloody Shia LaBeouf. It’s a great read.

Director Fredrik Bond has also been quoted in various articles and his enthusiasm is obvious and almost contagious:
He is quoted in Screendaily as saying: “We shot in the summer in Bucharest over 34 days,” says Bond. “It was the best experience ever.”
And in Variety: “It’s a wild ride, and that’s what was so fun about it, there are very few scripts I read where it’s a real bouncy, dynamic ride.”

We will update more on The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman when more news and reviews will start to appear after its premiere as well as further news regarding its International Premiere at Berlinale.

Rupert Grint Featured In New Clip and Entertainment Weekly!

» November 4 by Tao in HP News, Rupert News with 16 Comments

November 4th, 2010, 1:58pm–It’s hard to believe that in two weeks time we’ll be watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I in theaters! And as the time comes closer we get plenty of new things to get us excited! First off we get to see Rupert Grint in a new clip via the official facebook page for the Harry Potter films. This exclusive clip is the seven potters sequence and is quite hilarious! You can view that on our youtube channel or below.

Lastly Entertainment Weekly is doing another Harry Potter cover. Rupert is interviewed and EW has released a snippet of the interview!

“The alternative, of just going to college and school never really appealed to me,” he said. “On set there were times when it was really quite slow, but I’ve always loved it. There was never a doubt that I was going to do this.”

They also have an interesting video showing Rupert through the years. This one is better than some of the picture comparisons we have seen in the past as we see actual morphing of Rupert through pictures. You can watch that here. If anyone has a copy please send us the scans!

MTV is also praising Rupert! They said, “Rupert Grint hasn’t always had a chance to shine in the “Potter” films like his co-stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Tom Felton have, but judging by this clip it looks like “Part 1″ gives him the opportunity. The way Ron tries to talk down Harry from running off to destroy Voldemort’s Horcux’s in the middle of the night is some of the best acting we’ve seen from Grint to date.” We couldn’t agree more, MTV! Now how about showing him a little love at the MTV Movie Awards!

And with two weeks left, you still have plenty of time to pre-order your Deathly Hallows tickets through us via fandango. Just click on the banner on the left hand side!

Thanks to all who sent in tips!

UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly has released some photos of DH1 including this little gem! You can also view new images here, and here.

August 12th, 2010, 12:45pm — Now that there is just under 100 days for the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -Part 1, we can hope to see more  interviews, photoshoots and appearances of Rupert Grint. Kick-starting the countdown is this week’s EW(Entertainment Weekly) magazine where Harry Potter  makes the cover page.

In the article titled, “Harry Potter secrets! Why are Rupert Grint and Emma Watson sopping wet?”, Rupert Grint and his Harry Potter co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have talked about their experiences while filming the last two parts of this Epic Series.

When Rupert Grint was asked about how he feels to see the end of the series, this is what he had to say with mixed emotions -  “I’m ready to kind of move on now, I think,” Grint said between takes. “This film is a great way to finish the whole era, and it’s going to be sad, because obviously all my friends are here, but 10 years is enough.”

And there are mentions of Rupert Grint as  sopping WET!Ron Weasley. The articles talks about how Rupert and Emma had to stay wet for several days to film the Chamber of Secrets scene for destroying another horcrux.  Weren’t we just recently discussing about this in our Forums.

You can read the rest of the article here.

March 3rd, 2010, 1:00 AM-Several out-takes of Rupert Grint and his Harry Potter co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are available online from their exclusive photo-shoot with Entertainment Weekly back in July 2009. We are adding the photos in our galleries and will hopefully obtain untagged HQ versions but none-the-less these alone are adorable and will tide you over while news is slow. View in our gallery here.

Thanks so much to DanielRadcliffe.fr for the awesome find!

And in other news.. And we just wanted to update you on Eddie The Eagle. Remember we confirmed this project back in November 2009 and nothing has fell through. In-fact things are moving along nicely.. Negotiations are almost finalized and now the company working on the production side of things have started mentioning Rupert and his involvement…. Rupert’s camp told us they are ironing out a few more things. Keep an eye on IMDB as Rupert’s page is updated a lot recently now listing him as the main cast for Eddie. They also have some trivia too.
