December 8th, 2009, 4:54pm–A short interview with Rupert Grint is available from the British Independent Film Awards where he talks about being nervous at events like that and how boring they are! But he said he actually happened to be having a really good time. Rupert comes in at about 3:10. View it directly from their web-site or via you-tube here.  And we have also updated our galleries with several new HQ photos of Rupert from the event. We also have some nice close ups of those boots! View them all in our galleries. In Harry Potter news,  don’t forget to grab your Harry  Potter and the Half-Blood Prince two disc special edition DVD now on sale! MTV also just released an article about the Deathly Hallows where Dan Radcliffe talks about the fears of getting Deathly Hallows right. Most of it we already know but they do mention Rupert’s hilarious nickname Pigboy Heart Attack! Read here. MTV also has another clip where the cast is asked about what music they listen to that helps them get pumped for difficult scenes.
Rupert Grint revealed that he’s been listening to a lot of instrumental music from bands like the Black Lips and, while reading the “Deathly Hallows” script, Mogwai.
View that one here.

Thanks Malene, Masha. :)

Rupert Grint Talks Ron And Stunts In New Interview!

November 29th, 2009, 2:43 PM–Rupert Grint and his Harry Potter co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson were recently interviewed by HP Brazilian site Vira-Tempo about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and and what its been like filming The Deathly Hallows! Rupert talks about Ron’s wardrobe and stunts!

On the Blu-ray and DVD release, you get put through paces by the stunt guys for the extra features. What was that like? And is that something you asked for specifically or did they just say you’re going to be doing this as a DVD extra?

Rupert: It was in preparation for the Quidditch and flying scenes because I’m not really the most athletic person. I didn’t know if it would help but I got a bit of trampoline training to get my fitness up and it just gives you an idea of what it’s like to fly. And I think it was quite helpful and it was good fun. And the whole process of the Quidditch is quite uncomfortable to film but it looked really cool in the end.

And are you on friendly terms with the wardrobe department? They have put you through the wringer over the last six years, haven’t they?

Rupert: Ron has had some pretty unusual outfits. It’s the same kind of wardrobe in this next one, which is colourful, homemade knitwear and there’s this quite amazing big wedding outfit as well. I quite like it, though. It gets you back and gets you into the character.

Emma Watson talks about Ron and Hermione’s relationship and how well she and Rupert worked together bouncing off ideas for their character romance storyline. ;)

Hermione and Ron obviously have a bit of a romance in the movie. Were you excited for this storyline?

EMMA WATSON: Yes, I was very excited. It might not be the most obvious storyline in a way. I think a lot of fans always saw Hermione and Harry together, but I think that Hermione and Ron are very strange, but kind of perfect for each other. They’re very different, but you know, they make each other laugh. Ron lightens her up. Hermione’s quite a serious character, so I think they’re good for each other.

It seems that it would be more fun to play Hermione when you’re in a scene with Ron, because he looks like he’s having a good time?

EMMA WATSON: Definitely. Yes. I like doing scenes with Rupert because we get to kind of bounce off each other and they tend to be the funny ones.

Now that you’ve seen the film, what’s your favorite storyline to watch, or what are some of your favorite moments?

EMMA WATSON: My favorite moments are Ron playing Quidditch. I just think he’s hysterical. Also, Ron taking a love potion. I think he’s really funny, so for me those moments are my favorite.

Thanks to Vira-Tempo for the translations.

August 14, 2009, 6:47 PM–Hello Rupert Grint fans! Our fanzine Grintastic has just been updated with two brand new treats. First of all, as promised, we have prepared a new edition of RonCast for your listening pleasure. For those who are new to ICM, RonCast is our podcast series dedicated to our favourite fictional character Ron Weasley.

Your host is Sam aka Erudite Witch, and this time her guests are Sabine, AJ, Wicked Jo, Mugglemama and Dove. They evaluate the latest addition to the HP saga, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; they also talk about the latest Deathly Hallows news and spoilers, and last but not least, they discuss Ron/Hermione fanfiction.

Another addition to Grintastic is Tao‘s text dedicated to the True Blood books and TV show starring Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer — a must read for all of you who love stories about vampires! So, head over to Grintastic and read the latest two stories in the Featured category.

UPDATE: Our gallery has just been updated with two new MQ studio shots of Rupert as Ron in his full quiddich gear. The photos were released by MTime via Oclumencia and can be seen in our gallery here and here. Also, we have added all the latest submissions to our Blag Around The World gallery, so view them here.

Grintastic August Edition And Deathly Hallows Updates!

August 7, 2009, 12:40pm–Hello fellow Rupert Grint fans! The August edition of our online fanzine Grintastic has just been “published”! Inside you will find a great editorial by Michelle, fans’ reviews and reflections on Rupert’s films Cherrybomb and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, opinion pieces, spoofs, fanfics by Mugglemama and many other things — in short, something to cater for everyone’s tastes. Don’t forget to leave your thoughts and opinions about our articles, and help us make the next edition of Grintastic even better!

As usual, we are a bit late with our podcasts, but they will be uploaded to Grintastic in a few days, alongside a few other articles, so keep checking.

Also, thanks to Kirstiee Annee for sending us some Deathly Hallows updates. According to HP4U, Rupert’s WIld Target co-star Bill Nighy has already filmed some scenes in which he stars as the minister of magic Rufus Scrimgeour. Also, the scene in which Scrimgeour reads Dumbledore’s will and distributes his belongings to the trio will take place at the Burrow, which means that it will be rebuilt after its (pointless) destruction in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I guess they couldn’t leave the Weasleys homeless. *eyeroll*

Now, please head over to Grintastic!

Rupert Grint: Corpsing, Guy Candy And Bill Nighy!

July 1, 2009, 7:08 AM–I have just added tons of scans to our gallery for your viewing pleasure. First of all, David Yates has contributed a beautiful article to the latest issue of the Total Film magazine. He writes about his work on the Harry Potter series, and mentions Rupert in a very affectionate tone:

There will be so many happy memories of the people I’ve worked with. Rupert Grint‘s corpsing [cracking up during a take] will stay with me for the rest of my life. He is a terrible corpser and he always tries to hide it. I was doing a shot today where he walks towards Emma — he started to go before he was within seven feet of her and then tried to hide behind her so we couldn’t see. It’s so sweet. We’re looking into how to achieve ageing up Dan, Emma and Rupert for the final epilogue in a really interesting way — seeing Dan with a bit of a paunch will be great!

View the scan in our gallery here, and there’s another scan of this feature, previously available online (things that were left out of HP movies).

Next, the UK tabloid “New” has recently run a story about Cherrybomb, and named Rupert the “Guy Candy” — we couldn’t agree more! View that scan here and here’s some Cherrybomb buzz.

You may also take a look at this new photo of Rupert and Emma Watson from a Belgian TV guide “Dag Allemaal” — according to which, there will be a Harry Potter special on Belgian VT4 channel on 1o July at 11:05pm. Rupert and Emma were interviewed by Ann Van Elsen, so if anyone can record this show, please send it to us! And thanks Laura for the scan.

There’s also a new (at least to me) behind-the-scenes shot of the Trio and David Yates (I found it in the Story magazine), so clicky here. I’ve also added gorgeous untagged scans of Rupert’s recent interview with the Mail, with photos by Ian Derry — find them here; and scans from the Tatler magazine, in which the beautiful Jessie Cave talks about her crush on Rupert, can be seen here!

Finally, TLC reports that Rupert’s Wild Target co-star and the talented rapper Bill Nighy has (finally!) joined the HP cast! He will play Rufus Scrimgeour in Deathly Hallows — yay! Thanks Holly for emailing.

UPDATE: Matthew Lewis has also mentioned Rupert in his latest interview with the LA Times. He talked about the great atmosphere on the HP set, and said:

You know when James and Oliver Phelps, who play the Weasley twins, and Rupert, who plays Ron, when they’re in scenes, a lot of the banter that they have as brothers is ad-libbed, and they can do that kind of stuff because they just get along so well.

Thanks Stephanie for the tip!
