Rupert Grint’s CBGB is heading to Cannes Film Festival!

cbgb icon3April 29, 2013, 2:20pm– Rupert Grint‘s latest film, CBGB, will be screened at Cannes Film Festival next month. Screendaily is reporting that the movie has been acquired by The Exchange for the international sales and will be offered to potential overseas buyers at the upcoming festival. Furthermore, they are reporting that Paradigm will handle US rights and that they “will announce a domestic deal shortly”. All very exciting news.

The festival takes place from May 15-26 and we will keep you all posted about further details regarding the screenings and whether or not Rupert will attend.

Brian O’Shea, executive at The Exchange has this to say about CBGB being shown at Cannes:

“Reteaming with Randall Miller is a great opportunity,” said O’Shea. “Cannes is the perfect place to bring our buyers such a fun and commercial era-defining movie like CBGB.

Rupert Grint’s Comrade gets distribution deals at Cannes!

May 18, 2011, 8:15 AM — The new film, Comrade, starring our very own Rupert Grint has just been presented at the Cannes Film Festival at a closed promo-screening. This has resulted in no less than three distribution deals – which have all been confirmed by Trustnordisk today.

As mentioned previously, the film is directed by the Norwegian director Petter Næss and produced by Zentropa Norway - but what we haven’t been able to disclose until today is that the film will be distributed by Metrodome (UK), Kino Swiat (Poland) and Vendetta (Australia).

According to Rikke Ennis, CEO from Trustnordisk, the “presale has never been stronger and this shows on the sales. The interest has been overwhelming.” No doubt this holds promise for Comrade‘s future chances in getting more distribution deals.

Rupert Grint: Wild Target Promoted at Cannes!

May 18, 2009, 6:36PM–We recently reported that Wild Target starring Rupert Grint, Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt has landed a distribution deal with U.K. exhib chain Vue Entertainment. Now “IOM Today” is reporting that Isle of Man Film representatives have attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote Manx films!

Excerpt: Three films will also be promoted to distributors – Heartless, directed by Philip Radley, and Wild Target, a hitman caper starring Bill Nighy and Helena Bonham Carter – which were both filmed last year.

‘The whole of the film production industry is going through a difficult time so it’s important we have a really active presence.’  It’s a very prestigious event and it has been crucial in establishing and maintaining links with film producers and distributors and helped cement our position as a leading independent film financier in the British Isles and therefore Europe,’ he explained.

The North American Distribution process for Wild Target is being handled by Cinetic Media.

Rupert Grint: Cherrybomb Campaign Update.

ta1md2

May 8th 2009, 1:46pm–This week has been a very busy one for the Rupert Grint fandom. In just a short week we have managed to gather over 3,000 votes in total with our “Cherrybomb Distribution Campaign.” We have created so much buzz that entertainment sites such as Reelz Channel and The Movie Fanatic have all featured stories about our cause. So we would like to send a big thanks to them and especially Jed Medina for taking the time to mention the campaign to your readers. Also thank you to all of the Harry Potter sites/communities who have supported the petition from the beginning. Of course a huge round of applause goes to the fierce RA. You all have worked very hard and showed so much enthusiasm and dedication. This campaign would be nothing without you. Soooo… as a bonus we hope you enjoy staffer Karo’s Cherrybomb Timeline. She took these pictures during our Film Location Tour and has grabbed pieces from the movie to show you where each scene took place. It’s pretty interesting. Thanks Karo. You may view the photos in our gallery here.

As for the petitions, Brazil currently takes the lead ranking in over 1,400 signatures and we expect the U.S. finally to break 1,000 votes this weekend! Our next goal is to work on bringing up those numbers in the U.K. We have created a thread in our forums to discuss and share ideas so we welcome you to join in, or just email us staff@rupert-grint.us. We have been very successful so far so don’t be discouraged, get involved!

Remember  “The Little Film Company,” will be featuring Cherrybomb at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday May 14th, so we really need to push for as many signatures as possible by this date!
