Anniversary Countown: Celebrating ten years on Rupert-Grint.us!

Icon 3July 7th, 2014, 0:24am– In 10 days, Rupert-Grint.us will have its tenth anniversary, and to celebrate this awesome event, we are starting our 10-day Birthday Countdown today!
Each day is dedicated to one year, and we will take a look back with you how the site grew, changed, and became what it is today. Ten staff members (both former and present) will share their personal stories of how they came to work on the site and what their dearest memories are. And we would like to see you participate in our celebration by voting in our ten polls, and sharing your memories in the comments.

We are starting today with the year 2004, when everything began shortly after the release of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Our webmistress Tao will tell you about her intention behind creating RG.us and what it means to her ten years later.

Rupert Grint: First Trailer for The Unbeatables!

June 18th, 2014, 10:50am– We love it when Rupert Grint news keeps flooding in, and this week just keeps getting better and better.
Today, Digital Spy has exclusively released the first English trailer for The Unbeatables where Rupert plays the lead character Amadeo.
Take a look at the trailer below – it looks to be a hilarious film:

Director Juan José Campanella had this to say about Rupert voicing Amadeo:

I loved Rupert’s work in Harry Potter and I knew he would bring an honesty and intelligence to the part of Amadeo. As it is he played the part perfectly, he has the right nuances, he is the right age and he has the right level of tenderness.
It is pretty amazing what he did – he is really very, very good. I love him!

The Unbeatables will open in UK cinemas on August 15th. We can’t wait!

Remember to read all about the big announcement we had yesterday – Rupert is heading to Broadway in just a few months. Read more here!

Rupert Grint heading to Broadway in “It’s Only a Play”!

RupertNewsIconJune 17th, 2014, 12:30pm– Entertainment Weekly is reporting the most exciting news of the year – Rupert Grint will make his Broadway debut this October in the play “It’s Only a Play”. Rupert joins an all-star cast including Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Stockard Channing and Megan Mullally, it will be directed by Jack O’Brien.

The play will run for a limited 17 weeks and open at Broadway’s Schoenfeld Theatre on October 9th. How excited are you about this news??

Here’s a synopsis – Rupert will play the character Frank Finger:

It’s opening night of Peter Austin’s (Matthew Broderick) new play as he anxiously awaits to see if his show is a hit. With his career on the line, he shares his big First Night with his best friend, a television star (Nathan Lane), his fledgling producer (Megan Mullally), his erratic leading lady (Stockard Channing), his wunderkind director (Rupert Grint), an infamous drama critic (F. Murray Abraham) and a fresh-off-the-bus coat check attendant (Micah Stock in his Broadway debut).

It’s alternately raucous, ridiculous and tender — reminding audiences why there’s no business like show business. Thank God!

We will update as soon as more news comes out about this, when we get official confirmation from Rupert’s reps as well as ticket information.
