Synopsis:

~As Harry Potter begins his 6th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers an old book marked mysteriously “This book is the property of the Half-Blood Prince” and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort’s dark past. ~

Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching.

Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information.

Harry, meanwhile, is facing a dilemma of his own romantic: he realizes he is falling for his best friend’s sister, Ginny Weasley, which is unfortunately dating classmate Dean Thomas. Harry’s pining for Ginny and Ron’s relationship with hilarious Lavender give this story a good dose of reality!

Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary……teenage hormones. This installment of the series is what many fans have been anticipating mainly because Grint’s Ron Weasley gets a girlfriend — or, more accurately, a make-out partner — in the form of Lavender Brown. Fans will also be thrilled because Ron’s storyline is showcased much more this time around from his first onscreen Quidditch scenes, to the poisioning incident, spellbinding chocolates and of’ course Hermione Granger.

Hermione Granger is realizing that her heart belongs to Ron Weasley but Ron has just hooked up with Lavender Brown. Hermione does her best though to mask her feelings but when Ron and Lavender come bumbling into this dark corner of Hogwarts looking for a place to snog she shoos them away with a magical gust of wind, which in reality will be a flock of pigeons that swoop down attacking Ron! Harry is caught in the middle of it…..again!

Press:

Despite fans shocking reactions and protests Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince release date was suddenly moved by Warner Bros from November 21st 2008, back to July 15th 2009. The reasons given are that they feel the movie will reach a wider audience with a Summer release date, and that the writers strike left a big gap in the Summer calendar that they need to fill.
