Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final of the Harry Potter novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The book was released on July 21, 2007, ending the series that began in 1997 with the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. This book chronicles the events directly following Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2005), and leads to the long-awaited final confrontation between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.

Official News:

Warner Brothers released statements that they would be splitting the movie up into two installments not only to satisfy the fan requests but they too felt that it was important that none of the key moments from the book be missed.
Filming Begins:

Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are now filming scenes for “Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I“.  The Deathly Hallows will be split across two separate movies. Parts I and II are being filmed together with less than a year between their November 2010 and July 2011 release dates.
