From another point of view, it's may not be a bad thing . I mean , if he worked regularly on a TV series it would take almost all of his time to do it and it surely would prevent him from taking more other projects(especially movie projects). Now that this TV project didn't make it , maybe he could put more time and interests into other potential projects.TBH I always think it is a bit too early for him to shift the emphasis of his acting career to the small screen, in the future maybe , but not now. Anyway, I think now it's time (both for us and him)to forget all these Super Clyde things and move on , there're much more things out there to be expected.

I agree - we should try to look at this from a positive angle, no matter how hard it seems. Of course, we want all of Rupert's projects to be a succes, but we have to take the good with the bad.

This definitely leaves more time for him to do different kinds of movies. And I was already starting read complaints from people that Clyde was too alike Ron (which is just weird imo since we know almost nothing about Clyde), and now we don't have to worry about that.

Rupert just need to work work work so we can focus on something positive.

^yeah I don't know how people can complain he was too like ron when it hasn't been seen yet lol.

Iaaf - I agree but it also would have brought Rupert some good stability and perhaps some newfound popularity in the US. Being on Tv every week would have maybe earn more recognition than he gets now. But, gotta move on.

there're many other ways to gain popularity , like , linking romantically to big names , or,
endorsing famous-brand lipsticks lol just kiddin ;) what I'm going to say is , Rupert dosen't care about popularity at all , he only cares about being happy with whatever he does, as long as he is happy, we are happy .

I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist but, if a highly expected show with worldwide-known cast and acclaimed producers like SC is not even on CBS's considerate addition list, I have to guess that there must've been some other reasons we don't know, like , Rupert, Fry, and the rest of the cast done REALLY REALLY badly on the pilot(which is impossible imo) or somebody influential enough didn't want this show to happen. this really is the most inexplicable thing I've experienced so far this year

I think the main reason why CBS passed on SC was because it doesn't fit in with their comedy style. If you look at the comedies they have now as well as the ones they picked, SC is too different- by that I mean, not a comedy that offer cheap laughs but one that has heart and soul. I think if SC were to be shopped to another network like Fox, it would be a winner. Garcia's other sitcom Raising Hope has a similar premise and fits in very well with the Fox shows, SC is definitely more of a cable show.

It's disappointing but I can't say I'm surprised. I also think that many of these new shows may be cancelled mid-season or won't go beyond one season. This problem is not exclusive to CBS, if you take a look at all the new shows on all networks, most are really really bad. It's baffling the state that TV has come to- what happened to all the thoughtful shows that don't resort to crude humour?!

if it was because it doesn't fit in , why did they make the pilot from the beginning?if they made it for selling it to other networks , why we haven't heard any informations about the deal between them yet?
