A Brand New Rupert Grint Interview From Berlinale!

othermoviesFebruary 24th, 2013, 12:46am–During his time in Berlinale, Rupert Grint did quite a few interviews to promote The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman. Today one of those nice interviews with Rupert has popped up via Entertainment Daily News. In it Rupert talks about why he chose to do the role, working with Shia Lebeouf, and seeing more of him in the role. You can view it all here. (Or watch below!) Thanks to the anonymous tip! (Rupert’s part starts around 1:20 mark and ends around 3:03.)

And if you haven’t seen it already, new news about Super Clyde has hit the internet. Check out the story below for more. We will probably get more casting news in the coming weeks and hopefully know by May on whether CBS picks up the pilot. Fingers crossed!

Rupert Grint: Tyler Labine Cast As Clyde’s Brother!

rupertnewsFebruary 23rd, 2013, 1:55am–As you know, Rupert Grint was cast in a CBS pilot called ‘Super Clyde‘. Tonight we bring you more news in the form of casting of Clyde’s older brother: Tyler Labine who will play the character Duke. This is according to Entertainment Weekly. Labine’s other credits include The CW’s Reaper, Fox’s Sons of Tucson, CBS’ Mad Love and NBC’s Animal Practice. This also means that Rupert will most likely be putting on an American accent for the show. (While this seemed obvious to me, there were some out there wondering, so I think this news tells us he will be an American character.) For a recap, Super Clyde centers around a meek unassuming fast food worker who decides to become a super hero.

We also want to remind you that while Rupert has been casted in this role, it does not mean that this will be picked up by CBS. This is only a pilot. And although this one seems to have the most buzz, that sadly means little. Of course, if you ask me, I think it would be great compared with The Big Bang Theory, don’t you?

UPDATE: For those interesting The Hollywood Reporter has a bit more on Labine’s character: “Labine will play Clyde’s older brother Duke, an ex-jock type who is the kind of crass slob whose imagination doesn’t go anywhere beyond his own creature comforts. Duke gets an unexpected windfall: a long-delayed $100,000 per month inheritance from his dead uncle, Bill.”

Rupert Grint Reported To Star In CBS Pilot Comedy ‘Super Clyde’!

rupertnewsFebruary 13th, 2013, 9:04pm–Well, this exciting news! According to TVLine, Rupert Grint is set to star in the comedy ‘Super Clyde‘! Rupert is set to play the lead, a burger-flipper in a pilot comedy for CBS. For those outside of the US, that is one of the big networks on TV here. According to TVLine the pilot is a: “single-camera project from Raising Hope writer/EP Greg Garcia follows a meek fast food worker who decides to become a super hero.

We will be checking with Rupert’s representatives with more on this. For those who may not understand how TV works in America, a pilot does not mean it will be picked up by the studio only that the studio has acquired the rights to air it if they so desire. We probably won’t know more about this until May when network television stations have their ‘upfronts’ and release schedules for the following year.

UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter has more on the role: “The comedy from Raising Hope’s Greg Garcia centers on a meek, unassuming fast-food worker decides to become a super hero.

Grint will play the title role of Clyde, the well-meaning and sweet yet slightly neurotic guy who never feels like he really fits in. The avid comic book reader considers himself a borderline agoraphobic with mild to severe anxiety issues who wishes he were a super hero himself. When Clyde inherits a $100,000 a month inheritance from his long-dead eccentric Uncle Bill, he decides that the cash will be his secret super power and will use it only for good and reward the good-hearted.”

UPDATE 2: CONFIRMED! We just received word from Rupert’s reps that this is indeed true, so we will have more updates about Super Clyde in the future! Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
