July 18th, 2011, 1:30pm–Another new Interview for Rupert Grint. You might have not seen the news on twitter but last month we added that cute picture of Rupert posing for The Big Issue In Scoltand. You can see it in our Gallery here. Finally after a month they have released the interview on their website. In the interview you can read how he “winked at Sir Paul MacCartney” during the Baftas. Yes you read it well. Rupert winked at former Beatles Paul MacCartney.

This is what Rupert said about Ron Weasley:

Q. Would you change Ron if you could?

A. He’s always been quite cool. I suppose maybe if he was a bit braver, occasionally. A few more heroic moments would be quite cool.

Q. Do you think the movie Ron or the book Ron is more like you?

A. I suppose the movie Ron, really. It was – it is me, really.

July 15th, 2011, 10:47am–In the continuity of Harry Potter and The Deathy Hallows movie release. ABC News has written their own Review and published an interview with Rupert Grint.

“As Harry, Hermione and Ron, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have grown up on screen, tumbling up like stems from seedlings, transforming from cute kids into captivating actors with the help of a supremely talented cast.

Even if you know how the final showdown goes down, you’ll hold your breath. Two hours fly by. No one wants it to end. But so it goes, and this film is an epic farewell”.

July 14th, 2011, 12:16pm–Today we have a few nice Rupert Grint goodies to share with you. Firstly, MTV have published yet another interview with Rupert on the red carpet in New York, in which he talks about the end of the Harry Potter time and comes up with a new plan for the time after Potter. If you were there during the LiveStream you certainly already seen it.

Finally some cool reviews about Rupert and his performance in Harry Potter. The first one is from The Seatle Times.
And how nice that the film’s penultimate moment is a quiet one, as Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) stand alone together outside Hogwarts, finally exhaling; you wish they could take a well-deserved bow.

Then CBC News.
Of the three central heroes, I’ve found actor Rupert Grint the most interesting to watch. While fans may not find his Ron as dreamy as Dan Radcliffe’s Harry, his character’s anger and frustration at this chaotic wizard world seems to burn the brightest. Still, in the transformation department, Matthew Lewis nearly steals the show as the cardigan-wearing champion Neville Longbottom. He is the Thomas the Tank Engine of the
Potterverse, who just keeps chug-chug-chugging along,regardless of the stakes.

And finally Times Online. Director David Yates, who also helmed “Part 1,” delivers excitement in a crisp running time of 130 minutes, but strangely, he never gives Radcliffe’s Harry a major confrontation for the viewers to applaud. Grint’s Ron and Watson’s Hermione face a similar problem, since they run
across the screen numerous times but never have a defining action momentthat would delight their fans.

That may be a minor quibble, but Grint and Watson bring so much energy to the narrative that one wishes they had more challenging moments on screen. The two certainly deserved them.

“Once again the cast seem to have kicked things up a notch; the acting is the best it has been since the release of the first film in 2001. The development of Rupert Grint’s Ron Weasley, which began in the last film, culminates in a truly impressive performance: a brief but painfully poignant scene where he breaks down upon witnessing a family tragedy leaves the cinema in eerie silence punctuated only by some sniffing. I suspect there might be a few damp eyes hidden behind the 3D glasses.”

AK: Have you felt pressure about choosing your post-”Potter” roles?
RG: Not so much really. This last movie just came up, and I was quite game to do something different. It’s just a new challenge. It all kind of made sense. … It’s called “Comrade,” and it’s about a true story set in World War II about two English pilots and three German pilots. They both shoot each other down in the middle of Norway, and they find each other in this old cabin thing, and it’s how our relationship with each other changes. We go into survival mode and put the war aside and we become friends, so it’s quite cool. … It was very different — extremely different. We filmed it in Norway on top of a mountain in crazy weather. It was minus-25 with snow everywhere. It was quite extreme. It was a very different filming experience. … It was a true story. These were real people. World War II always felt like quite an interesting part of history.

AK: It sounds heavy, a departure from your more comedic work.
RG: I’m pretty much kind of up for anything really — anything that’s kind of a bit of an interesting character always appeals to me.

…And then there was lovely, shy Rupert Grint, who was actually quite prompt in his arrival (well done Rupert) – but he still managed to spend almost four hours actually walking the red carpet, talking to fans – impressive by anyone’s standards…
