cbgb icon2Rupert Grint: “I Always Wanted To Play A Punk”August 5th, 2013, 7:55pm–Newspaper USA Today released several pictures from CBGB (only two are new which you can see here and here) as well as an article on the movie. Rupert Grint is interviewed where he reveals how much he’s wanted to play a punk rocker.

“I have always wanted to play a punk,” says Grint, 24, who stars as rocker Cheetah Chrome in the historical drama CBGB (opening in limited markets Oct. 11). “It was really good fun.”

We also learn that some of the actors voices are mixed in with the original songs. The original soundtrack is due out on October 8th. It will be available on vinyl and CD according to this article. It’s up for pre-order here.

Rupert had this to say about playing on stage:

“It was a real buzz. We actually felt like we were in a band, which is something I have always wanted to do, secretly,” Grint says. “It was nice to have a little taste of that.”

The article has tons of information and quotes from director Randy Miller and his wife (also producer) Jody Savin. You can read all about here here.
