In this interview, Shia mentions Rupert and the “best possible cast we could have, and the best picks”:

Several articles about the film have been published as well, giving more information about Rupert’s role.
USA Today has published this great article with the following quote from director Fredrik Bond:

“He’s so synonymous with the Harry Potter series, I think that’s why he was so keen to do this,” says Countryman director Fredrik Bond. “He’s dying to be doing different stuff outside of the series and be acknowledged for it. He’s an incredible actor. And it’s so different from what he’s done before. He had an amazing time.”

Video: Rupert Grint as ‘Liam’ on American Dad!

October 8, 2012, 3:24am– Last night, TV channel FOX aired the episode Killer Vacation of American Dad, which features Rupert Grint.

Rupert lends his voice to the upper-class character Liam, who takes Stevie on a trip across the island “through treacherous jungle” and takes care of his injury. And we do agree with Stevie: That accent!

My, my, we can’t let that get infected. We’ll have to pack it with bees.

Rupert Grint: Site Updates, Rumors You May Have Heard and CBGB Filming Update!

June 26th, 2012, 3:25pm–Unfortunately Rupert Grint news has been a bit slow but that has given us time to work behind-the-scenes on the website. We’ve recently updated the filmography section to reflect the recent movies Rupert is involved in this year which you can view here. And we’ve also updated the biography site with the latest chapters in Rupert’s life that envolves his post-Potter career. You can view those here and here.

There is also a rumor going around on Tumblr and Twitter about Rupert being involved in a car accident. We have asked and have been told that it was nothing serious – just a little bump and everyone is fine!

Speaking of rumors, you may have heard the one about Enemy of Man. We’ve been told there is nothing to confirm at this time which basically means that Rupert hasn’t signed on to anything.

Lastly we’ve also asked about when Rupert will start filming CBGB. We know that he has yet to start filming but there are no official dates at this time. However, as soon as we are told when he starts filming we will let everyone know – especially for those who are going to go down there to see him filming!

UK Release Date for Rupert Grint’s film Postman Pat!

April 13th, 2012, 3:11pm– The UK release date for Rupert Grint‘s film Postman Pat: The Movie – You know you’re the one has been released earlier today: The animated film will be released on 24 May 2013 in 3D in the UK.

The lead characters will be voiced by Rupert Grint, who lends his voice to boyband star and contestant Josh, as well as his his former Harry Potter co-stars David Tennant and Jim Broadbent as well as Stephen Mangan.

Licensing.biz gives a fist summary of the plot:

The film finds Pat coming face to face with the temptations of money, status and a shiny new suit when he enters a national TV talent show that threatens to take him away from his hometown of Greendale.

Rupert Grint Joins Cast of “The Drummer”!

March 14th, 2012, 6:07pm–Variety and The Hollywood Reporter along with many major outlets are reporting that Rupert Grint has joined the cast of “The Drummer” along with Chloe Grace Moretz and Aaron Eckhart. The movie is a biopic based on The Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson. Rupert will be playing Stan Shapiro, a mail room intern at William Morris, who befriended Wilson during the last few years of the musician’s life.

This film is to be a major film role for Rupert and his first major film role since Harry Potter. We are inquiring with his reps right now and filming is to start in June. We will keep you updated on any new developments that come with this project. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: First, we have official word from Rupert’s reps that this film is indeed Rupert’s next project. Secondly Hollywood.com has a quote from Randall Miller on Rupert’s role and casting: “And Miller has high hopes for Grint as Shapiro: “Rupert’s character is the window into Dennis’ world. He is the everyman who witnesses the train wreck. Rupert is going to nail it.” Thanks Masha!
