Rupert Grint: Exclusive – Comrade Gets Norwegian Premiere Date!

Rupert Grint: Exclusive – Comrade Gets Norwegian Premiere Date!September 5th, 2011, 4:34PM– Exclusive news has just been confirmed to us – and we are itching to share it with you guys!

The upcoming film with Rupert Grint, namely Comrade, has finally been given a premiere date for Norway – if everything goes as planned, it will be coming to theatres on February 24, 2012! The confirmation was given to us by the film’s producer herself, Valerie Edwina Saunders. No doubt: this is the news that we’ve all been waiting for!

Even though this date is just for Norway, we already know at least four other countries that will be getting the film distributed as well: Australia, UK, Poland and Spain. It is only a matter of time – and patience – before we will be getting dates for these countries (and more).

There is absolutely no need for it, as we all know what the film is about – but seeing as this is some very exciting news – let’s just recap what the film is really all about. 🙂 On TrustNordisk‘s own website, the film is described as follows:

Comrade is an anti-war movie. High above the harsh Norwegian wilderness, English and German pilots shoot each other to the ground after a violent chance encounter. Isolated, they must fight to survive the brutal winter. Though war has madethem enemies, antagonism is hard to maintain as days go by. Through mutual need, unlikely friendships bloom. Somehow, they become comrades. War, after all, is absurd.

Directed by the Norwegian director, Petter Næss, the film’s cast includes a lot of promising names such as Florian Lukas, Lachlan Nieboer, David Kross, Stig Henrik Hoff and of course our very own Rupert Grint.

Rupert Grint: New dramatic still from Comrade!

Rupert Grint: New dramatic still from Comrade!August 31st, 2011, 5:18AM– It is certainly an exciting time for Rupert Grint‘s new film, Comrade, directed by the Norwegian director, Petter Næss. The news seem to be coming in with a steady stream – and we are loving every minute of it.

Since Comrade was introduced at the Norwegian International Film Festival, a new still from the film has surfaced. Yet again we get a sense of how dramatic the film will be – both in terms of visual images and the plot. It’s hard to tell whether or not Rupert himself is in the picture, but the picture is still definitely worth taking a look at 🙂

You can see a bigger version of the picture in the ever-expanding Comrade gallery here

UPDATE: Since it’s creation in 2004 I (Tao) have posted that today, August 31st, is my mom’s birthday. It’s become tradition for ICMers to wish her a happy b-day since without her I wouldn’t be here and neither would ICM! So happy b-day, Mom! 🙂

Rupert Grint: ICM Exclusive – Exploring Comrade in Grotli!

Rupert Grint: ICM Exclusive – Exploring Comrade in Grotli!August 29rd, 2011, 3:44pm–Following the new and very interesting article from the Norwegian International Film Festival yesterday about Rupert Grint and his new film, Comrade – we are finally ready to introduce our first Comrade goodie – and it is an ICM Exclusive indeed!

In June 2011, staffer Majbritt and ICM-regular Malene (sisters in real life ;-)) visited Grotli, Norway where Comrade was filmed just a few months earlier. The visit turned out to provide us with so much more than expected – the plane from the film out in plain sight as well as stories about the cast and crew – including of course our very own Rupert Grint.

We came with a lot of questions, but got answers to questions we never would have thought of ourselves… What would you expect Rupert‘s biggest scare on the mountain to be? 😉 What unforeseen forces affected the filming at a very crucial moment? How did he really feel about the infamous haircut?

We hope you enjoy our tale from the wilderness – and be sure to check out the brand new pictures from Grotli and Gardermoen in the Gallery

Rupert Grint: Interview with Comrade director Petter Næss!

Rupert Grint: Interview with Comrade director Petter NæssAugust 28nd, 2011, 7:14pm–A new article from the Norwegian Dagbladet has surfaced about Rupert Grint‘s new film, Comrade. Director Petter Næss introduced clips from the film at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund. The film was a part of a category named New Nordic Films which highlights new and exciting projects from Scandinavian film makers. The category was presented between August 17 and 20. The purpose of this category is as follows:

“The market is aimed towards international and Nordic distributors, TV buyers, festival programmers, sales agents, producers, directors and film organizations.”

Sounds promising to have Comrade represented here 🙂 You can read much more about this exciting feature here.

The aforementioned article reveals many new and exciting details about the film – and we get another great insight into Rupert’s character, Gunner Robert Smith. Director Petter Næss also touches upon the film’s audience:

“The film has no specific target audience, but Næss thinks that young people will find it refreshing to see adults who are not perfect, and who do not make light of their mishaps. The characters are skillful pilots, but amateurs in the situation they find themselves in.”

You can read the entire article here. It is definitely worth a read.

Thanks to Moi for the tip. 🙂

Two of them are random questions asked to celebrities including if Rupert still wears velcro on his shoes and if he likes X-Factor or Big Brother better. You can watch those here and here. Also Absolute Radio conducted an interview with Rupert where he discusses what bands he has seen, which ones he’s looking forward to, Harry Potter, Comrade (we learn a bit about Robert Southy Smith!) and Robbie Sheehan makes an entrance! You can watch that here.

Last, but not least, we have HQ photos of Rupert at Stardust Diner. These were taken while he was promoting Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and around the time he went to see Daniel Radcliffe in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. You can view these awesome photos here.
