Rupert Grint becomes an Ambassador for Starlight Children’s Foundation!

RupertNewsIconApril 8th, 2014, 8:42am– The Starlight Children’s Foundation has just named Rupert Grint an official amassador for their charity. You might remember that Rupert attended a christmas party for the Starlight charity where we saw him meet Callum (pictured below) who is a huge Harry Potter and Ron Weasley fan.

Rupert had this to say about this great honour:

It was a great pleasure to help Starlight grant Callum’s wish before Christmas and I really look forward to doing more to support this wonderful charity. I have seen first hand just how much of an impact a Starlight Wish can have on a seriously ill child – it really makes a huge difference to them and their family – so I am delighted to become a Starlight Ambassador

Neil Swan, Chief Executive of Starlight Children’s Foundation, had this to say about Rupert becoming an ambassador:

We are thrilled to welcome Rupert on board as an Ambassador. With his experience of Starlight’s work, popularity with young children and families, great sense of fun and charm, Rupert is perfect for Starlight and we are very excited about working with him.

Rupert Grint attends Christmas Party for the Starlight Children’s Charity!

RupertNewsIconDecember 9th, 2013, 2:31pm– ‘Tis the season to be charitable, and Rupert Grint sure knows how to spread some Christmas cheer. Today, he spent the day at Downing Street where Chancellor George Osborne hosted a Christmas party for the Starlight children’s charity.
40 seriously and terminally ill children and their families were invited to this very special event and it looks like Rupert had just as much fun as those precious kids.

At a time when it may feel like there is little to look forward to, Starlight is there to grant a seriously or terminally ill child their greatest wish, restoring the magic and fun of childhood and creating happy memories for the whole family to share and cherish, whatever the future holds.

You can view all the pictures of Rupert from today’s heartwarming festivities in our gallery here.

UPDATE: We now have HQ pictures of the even and hopefully more to come! You can view them here!

UPDATE #2: We have just uploaded some more pictures from this Christmassy day here, but we especially wanted to share a quote from Rupert about the lovely event:

This has been a very special day. It was a huge pleasure to attend Starlight and No 11 Downing Street’s Children’s Christmas Party and to get to meet Callum, who is a very brave young man with a seriously impressive knowledge of Harry Potter! He has clearly been through a huge amount but, amazingly, he has kept smiling. I think he is an inspiration. Hopefully being given his very own broom and chocolate wand has meant he’s had a truly wizard day. He certainly deserves it!
