otherprojectnewsicon_3Video: Rupert Grint in FIRST Clip from Adolf the Artist!October 11, 2016, 2:54pm– We are currently knee-deep in pictures of Rupert Grint from the set of Snatch and we absolutely love it. But we should not forget Rupert’s other upcoming projects, and today we have a very special treat for you.

Below, you can watch the very first clip released from Adolf the Artist where we see Rupert as August Kubizek (also called Gustl) and Iwan Rheon as Adolf Hitler. It looks very promising!

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Sky Vision has requested that the video be removed.

It’s been a while since we last had news on this project so let’s refresh our memory with the synopsis:

Adolf Hitler is portrayed like never before in this satirical comedy starring Iwan Rheon (Games of Thrones) and Rupert Grint (Harry Potter). It reimagines the megalomaniac dictator as an 18-year-old oddball who dreamt of nothing other than becoming a famous painter. Having failed to get into Vienna’s Academy of Fine Arts, he moves to the Austrian capital. However, not one to let himself go, he soon finds himself irritated by his opium-taking, schnapps swilling fellow artists and their sexual experimentation. Comedic in its approach, this historically-accurate story follows young Hitler, before politics and war, when he was nothing other than a teenager with a temper, strange dress sense and desperate ambition to become an artist.

We have no news on the official release date in the UK (or anywhere else) but we will update as soon as more information becomes available.

And in case you are missing our (almost) daily Snatch updates, you can see new pics of Rupert on set yesterday here.

Rupert Grint to star in new series “Snatch”!

OtherProjectNewsRupert Grint to star in new series “Snatch”!August 22nd, 2016, 6:10pm– Amazing news was just broken by DeadlineRupert Grint is set to star in new drama series Snatch. The series will draw inspiration from the 2000 movie by the same name.

Rupert will not only star in this new series for Sony’s streaming network Crackle, he’ll also serve as executive producer. The synopsis sounds exciting:

Snatch will carry the spirit of the setting in the film, while creating a new world with new characters. Inspired by a real life heist in London, Snatch, centers on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.

Production on the series will start next week in Manchester and the first season will consist of 10 episodes. We’ll have to wait until 2017 to see this but it sounds exciting already.
Rupert will star alongside Dougray Scott and Ed Westwick and Nick Renton will direct.

A description of Rupert’s character, Charlie Cavendish was also a part of the article:

Grint will play the dynamic, frustratingly chaotic and utterly posh con man, Charlie Cavendish. Scott plays Vic Hill, who continues the con game from inside prison; Westwick plays night club owner Sonny Castillo.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate this week than with this amazing news – it is Rupert birthday week after all 😀

In other news, we have uncovered a few new stills from Adolf the Artist which you can see here and here.

We also have a new and long synopsis to share. Although we don’t hear much about Rupert’s character (August (Gustl) Kubizek) we get a good impression of what to expect:

Adolf Hitler has been portrayed on screen many times – but never like this! Adolf the Artist is a satirical drama starring Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) and Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), telling the little-known tale of a young Adolf, before politics and before war, when all he could dream about was becoming a famous painter.
Historically accurate, this imagining of the young pre-tyrant is comedic in its approach and sees him ata crossroads in his life, when “his struggle” was purely about not being a good enough artist.
In 1907, an 18-year-old Hitler applied to the prestigious Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, certain that his genious would be recognized. It wasn’t. He resolved to re-apply the following year and moved to Vienna, hopeful that living amongst artists would rub off on him. Not one to let himself go, Hitler found the opium-taking, schnapps-swilling, sexual experimentation of his fellow artists somewhat irritating and as he’d not yet developed into a demagogic ranter, no-one listened. They didn’t have to. Yet.
This story follows Adolf in the run-up to retaking the entrance exam, burdened by temper tantrums and an oddball dress sense, and desperately trying to improve as an artist and gain recognition.

We do not yet know when this will air on Sky Arts but hopefully more news will emerge soon. In the meantime, enjoy the new picture (yay finally news).
