The Mirror Interviews Rupert Grint!

RupertNewsIconThe Mirror Interviews Rupert Grint!October 3th, 2014, 6:34pm– We are getting spoiled these days with some amazing Rupert Grint news and it seems like we might just have a lot more amazingness coming up. Tonight, The Mirror has released a brand new interview they have done with Rupert and we learn so many new lovely things about him – this interview touches on anything from money, new pets, a potential girlfriend and even religion.

Below is an endearing quote about a new girl in Rupert‘s life:

Despite the obvious lure of Hollywood – and he is chatting from a rented apartment in Manhattan – Rupert has no plans to up sticks and leave the UK for good.
“I like England – it’s my home,” he says.
Helping him feel at home in the Big Apple is a new addition to the Grint household – a tortoise called Madeleine. She’s not named after anyone in particular (no money-grabbing ex-girlfriend?) – she “just looked like a Maddie”.

We also get yet another lovely quote from Rupert’s current co-stars. This time it is Matthew Broderick speaking about Rupert’s Broadway debut:

“He is really sweet… so hardworking and diligent, and to see a young fellow get his first Broadway shot is just a pleasure to watch.”

Don’t hesitate to head over to their website (HERE!) and read the entire interview – it’s a great read.

Also, Rupert will join the rest of the It’s Only a Play cast on CBS Sunday Morning to talk about what actors REALLY think of critics’ reviews. So stay tuned for that!

What a refreshing interview! No matter how many you read, there’s always something new you find out about the man! 🙂 It kind of made my evening, too, after having missed Wild Target on TV (insert expletives at will)! 😉

That was a very interesting interview. One thing I do not understand is why is does not acknowledge thathe has a girlfriend. He and Georgia Groome have been together for awhile, they have been seen togehter numerous times, she went to Brussels and she was just in NY with him. Why the secrecy? He doesn’t have to name her but he should at least acknowledge the relationship.

Re: the above comment: He admitted in a interview for Mojo last year that he had a girlfriend, and after that interview came out, Georgia got a lot of hate online, and apparently one girl insulted her to Rupert’s face in a bar after a Mojo performance. Onlookers said he seemed really upset by that, so I’m not surprised he doesn’t want to admit the relationship after that. Also, it’s obvious he really doesn’t want to talk about his relationship in interviews and denying he has one is the best way to get around that.

Jessie. That is upsetting to hear and there will always be horrible people out there – that won’t go away. Of course he has every right to want to keep his relationships private. I guess it would seem more honest to me if he just flat out said that it is a topic he will not discuss rather than denying that the relationship exists.

I think in that interview, he obviously found it very hard to lie. He tried to say no, but couldn’t and ended up being very vague about a girlfriend or not, leading the interviewer to assume that it was early days in the relationship, which he seized on as a way out of the conversation! I don’t think he sets out to be dishonest, it’s just a question he doesn’t want to answer and doesn’t quite know how to handle. When he admitted to having a girlfriend in the interview last year, the reporter instantly starting asking loads of questions about her, and he got really embarrassed and said it was private. He’s so sweet, I don’t think he likes refusing to answer journalists’ questions! It’s awkwardness really, not intentional deceit.

It’s totally understandable that he avoids the topic about his love life as possible as he can since the very unpleasant experiences he had during Mojo period. The said fan girl not only insulted Georgia in person but also threatened her with death on twitter yet she still kept seeing Rupert at stage door almost every night :O how creepy, how shameless ! Rupert mentioned the fan girl later on in another interview saying she saw him every night at stage door but never went into the theatre to actually see the play, I think it was a mild warning from Rupert to that girl since he couldn’t accuse her directly. The said fan girl apologized on tumblr after that.
