Rupert Grint: New Article about the Pre-Production of CBGB!

May 30th, 2012, 10:06am– Savannah Morning News has published an interview today with Nadine Jolson – director of publicity for Unclaimed Freight Productions, (the production company behind CBGB), Randall Miller, the director and Jay Self, Savannah’s director of Film Services. The article offers a lot of new information about the upcoming filming of the rock movie about the famous venue CBGB as well as high praise for Rupert Grint! It is great to see that the Rupert love is spreading ;)

There is also news on the casting front, and it seems that Rupert has chosen an exciting project to be a part of:

Jolson said locations for the Savannah exteriors had been selected, but she
couldn’t reveal them — yet. The same goes for surprise cast members — “there will be a whole lot more, some fun ones” — and celebrity cameos with “famous musicians playing roles or (playing) other famous musicians,” she noted.

It seems as if the city of Savannah is just as excited as all of us Rupert fans! You can read the entire article here!

In other news, this Romanian article states that Rupert Grint will play the role of Shia Labeouf’s best friend in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman. We do not know if this information is true or how reliable this source is, so we will keep this in the rumour category until more information becomes available.

  1. I hope and fell like the Romanian article speaks truth, and Rupert indeed plays Charlie’s friend.
so far both projects sounds very promising!

  2. best friend again?

  3. @Trude why again? Just because he was Harry’s best Friend? Do you know that there are different best Friend Roles out there? Or do you just want to droll around, geez

    amazing News btw :)

  4. I am sorry for daring to write down what I thought – won’t happen again

  5. I don’t think it matters what Rupert’s role is, as long as it is a good role.

  6. @Maria, sorry I didn’t mean to bite your head off earlier – I just had a frustrating week and read your comment at the wrong time – I apologize
AND I didn’t mean my first comment in a “OMG, he only gets typecasted” way, but was thinking of an article I read years ago, where Rupert said he gets lots of roles as best friend offered

  7. It really isn’t whether he has a best friend role in a movie, but if it is different role altogether. If the rumors are true about him playing a male porn star, it won’t matter if he’s also Shia’s character’s best friend. You know? The same goes for his role as Stan Shapiro in The Drummer. And of course he’ll be a completely different person for CBGB. :)

  8. I am not complaining about him being the best friend … seriously!

  9. I’m just happy that he has another role. We still don’t know for sure what his part is but better the best friend than no part at all.

  10. Trude, you don’t have to keep defending yourself. I’m sure some people got what you w ere trying to say lol. But I’m glad Rupert is easing into the big screen and have not taking the main lead yet. As he keeps doing the the roles he has now people will stop seeing him as Ron, and see that he can deliver and start offering bigger roles. Even though we know how great Rupert can act there are some people who lacks to see it and I feel confuses Rupert/Ron. But I’m glad he didn’t jump right into a lead role, cause then if the movie flopped the blame would be put on him, and that’s detrimental to his career.

  11. I don’t even know how I finished up right here, however I believed this submit was once good. I don’t realize who you are however definitely you are going to a well-known blogger in case you are not already ;) Cheers!
