December 31st, 2011, 4:06pm–Every year, we at ICM do a news post to ring in the new year talking about Rupert Grint‘s and ICM’s accomplishments for the year and what we have to look forward to next year.
The year 2011 has to be characterized as an emotional year and yet also a year of change. This year brought the end of an era to a close: The Harry Potter saga ended. And while this was an emotional time for everyone involved, especially for Rupert and the Harry Potter cast and crew, it’s also a transitional year. This is the year that Rupert is moving beyond Harry Potter into other roles. With Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 coming out in July, Rupert started filming his first non-Potter role after wrapping Harry Potter for the final time. Into The White marked a journey into new territory and a really different character as Rupert will be playing the rebel. He also got to do something very different and is lending his voice to a part in the Postman Pat movie. A character he revealed to have grown up with and was excited to be apart of. The filming is still going on.
In 2011 Rupert also did a lot for charity auctioning off different pieces of his one-of-a-kind art and raising tons of money for several charities. Including a very amazing and hilarious skit for Red Nose Day which fellow Potter co-star Tom Felton participated in. Rupert also decided to be the face of a drink milk ad campaign in the UK appearing on buses and such to promote the health benefits of drinking milk. Rupert also did a lot of photoshoots this year including a great spread in Attitude Magazine and again appeared with Tom in a photoshoot for Band of Outsiders.
In late 2010 Rupert filmed a skit for BBC sketch show “Come Fly With Me” which aired in early 2011. He also appeared in a very popular video for Ed Sheeran‘s single “Lego House” where he plays Ed’s obsessed stalker.
And while 2011 did seem quiet in some aspects, it was still a great year professionally and personally for our Rupert and 2012 will no doubt bring on more of the same. Into The White is due out in the early part of the year in Norway and Postman Pat is due out in late 2012. So incidentally we’ll be starting the new year with Rupert and ending it with Rupert. I’m sure he’ll have plenty of other projects during this time and we at ICM can’t wait until this happens.
Speaking of ICM, we had a glorious year as well. While the year may have started out slow, we had exclusives for the DH part 1 Launch party and slid right into the red carpet premieres of DH 2 in London and NYC along with Amsterdam. We also had a chance to get tons of photos of Rupert in Las Vegas as he celebrated his birthday. And of course we’ve had so tons of exclusive interviews with the cast and crew of Into The White including director Petter Naess and co-star Florian Lukas.
Of course 2012 we will definitely bring you even more Into The White exclusives which we believe you all will love. And as Rupert ventures out to new and exciting projects, we know we’ll be there to bring you the very latest. We believe 2012 will be on heck of a year for everyone in the Rupert fandom and we can’t wait for it!
So Happy New Year! We hope 2011 was a grand year for you and that 2012 is even better. And a Happy New Year to Rupert and his family!
