Rupert Grint wins BBC Teen Awards as Best British Actor!

Rupert Grint wins BBC Teen Awards as Best British Actor!October 9th, 2011, 10:03AM– As recently mentioned, Rupert Grint is currently attending this years BBC Teen Awards at Wembley. Rupert himself was nominated as best actor for his performance as Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and he just won. Rupert couldn’t believe it:

“I’m just the ginger one in the background, this shouldn’t be happening!”

Well Rupert, you are definitely not just the one in the background for us and we couldn’t be more happy for you. 🙂

We have the first picture up in our gallery showing Rupert along with Matthew Lewis, Tom Felton and Tom Daley, who posted it via Twitter.
You’ll find it here.
We are sure many more are on their way.

Ed Sheeran is also attending the awards and just won an award, so we are hoping for more news from the new ginger dream team!

UPDATE: We have HQ photos of Rupert at the awards! You can see them here.

UPDATE 2: You can now download the audio versions of both the announcement/winning speech, as well as an interview with the “Best British Actor” which took place a little while later. To download: Click right, and “save as…”:

I can’t explain in Words what I’m feeling now. He won against Emma and Dan after 10 Years and he never complained and now he can go Home with a Award just for his amazing Performance

I can’t even begin to talk about how proud I am right now. Firstly to all the British fans for getting it right! Voting Rupert best actor is the way to go. 🙂 And secondly for the fact that Rupert did win and he finally gets the award and everyone can see how loved he is and how much he deserves an award for his phenomenal acting!

Long over due. As much as I love Dan and Emma, Rupert is a better actor than those two – its what attracted me to follow him as a fan. He has deserved this for years. Great great great stuff.

About damn time he finally gets recognize. I’m so happy that he won, he has been deserving since day one. Glad that people came to their senses. In the category that he won Emma and Daniel were nominated as well? Guys and girls on the same one? Just out of couriosity. Way to go Rupert. And he should have never been the Ginger in the background, kind of sad he has felt that way.
