February 4th, 2010, 6:38 pm–Several small reports were published recently reporting that Rupert was on the top list of celebrity money makers. Now we usually don’t post about this sort of thing but we couldn’t resist mentioning this one coming from movieline.com. The heading reads Rupert Grint Made More Money Than George Clooney! Poor Clooney.
Excerpt: The young actors each took home $30 million for the two-part franchise finale Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Clooney earned an estimated $22 million total for projects including Up in the Air, The Men Who Stare at Goats, The American and roughly $5 million for appearing in foreign commercials. It’s a recession! A Lake Como villa owner’s gotta do what a Lake Como villa owner’s gotta do.
And again Rupert’s agency is going to contact us as soon as they are 100% on his attendance for the Wizarding World event. We took the post down because we don’t want to get your hopes up if he can’t attend.
Feel free to contact us with any questions at staff@rupert-grint.us. Speaking of this event, NBC is giving fans a chance to win a trip to the grand opening of the Harry Potter theme park! For more information visit their website here. And you still have time to enter our Biggest Wheezy contest and the Cherrybomb video campaign. Come on guys!!!

“Maybe Rupert Grint can do the joint negotiating for them on Breaking Dawn.”
See, that ain’t right….hehehehehe.
I can’t even imagine 1 million, let alone 30, 40, or even 125 million.
Give me a dollar, shoot…..
I know huh AJ! He never comes off as somebody who has that kinda money. But we all know his weaknesses with cars…
He has got to be one of the most down to earth people on the planet! If I has that kind of money at his age I would have been so full of myself. That’s what is so great about him! Well, that and the fact that he’s hot!!:)
Jeez, that’s a HUGE raise!!! Thirty MILLION???? *dies*
It is a lot. Wasn’t it just for HBP he got like 15-20 mil?? I guess though being two movies, he’d have a significant increase.
But I agree… he’s so down to Earth, you’d NEVER know he has that much money.
I love the fact that he made more money than George Clooney! I love George Clooney. But, lets face it, he’s no Rupert Grint!!
I read reports that Rupert would earn around $4million for each movie. So it looks like he got a hug pay raise.
I agree, he does not seem like he has that much money. You don’t see him flaunting it like some other celebrities. He’s so sweet.
Have they confirmed the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for the month of May?
Well I know his money isn’t my business but I always said he needed to be paid more but was too nice to demand it. He is irreplaceable and plus after those amazing reviews on Half Blood Prince the WB should know how damn lucky they are to have him and without him the movies would suck dog dung.
Hi Raylene he’s more than likely going but his reps asked us just to wait a bit before confirming. Keep checking back or sign up on our twitter for the latest because as soon as we know we will report it!!!! And we’ll do our best to try and do so way in advance for those who might want to go too.
Nice to hear he’s being compensated well, but truthfully these type of lists are meaningless to me. It’s like whose the richest person in the U.S. or the world. Nice for them but what does it have to do with anything? I’m just sitting back waiting for the praise and hopefully awards that will be reaped onto Rupert in the future.
I don’t really understand it: He and Emma both made 30 Million each or did they both earn 15 million each?
Louise they both made 30 million dollars each, 15 million for each part of The Deathly Hallows movie.
thank you rayisray! OMG so much money!
I’m happy for Rupert, certainly. Really, I am, and like everybody else it makes me really happy that he doesn’t act like he makes that kind of money. I hope he continues to be the wonderful, humble person he is and won’t let his paychecks go to his head.
But I just can’t help thinking that doctors and other people who are doing jobs that are far more critical to people’s everyday lives don’t make even one percent of that income. I guess it just shows what value Western societies place on certain jobs. Sports people/actors/musicians deserve bucketloads of money, while people in far more prosaic but critical jobs don’t make much at all.
Oh, and forgot to add that it would be completely fantastic if Rupert is able to make the opening for the Wizarding World, even though there’s no way I’m going to be able to be there. He does seem like a guy who likes amusement parks!
lol, thanks Quotidas, for thinking of my profession there!
Errr, Rupert… I have an idea for a greeat way to invest all that money… Since Cherrybomb had a 1.5 Mio budget, you could actuelly fund about 20 films of that sort… with an average of 2 films a year, that would cover up about 10 years. With the income of just 1 project!!! O.O
Orrrrrrr…..you fund me!!! I’ll write a granp proposal.
Hehehehehehe…
I meant, grant.
But my idea would make everyone happy!
