A Release Date For Rupert Grint’s Wild Target and Cherrybomb?January 30th, 2010, 4:01pm–It has just been revealed that the UK will be enjoying Rupert Grint in theaters quite early! According to Launching Films, Wild Target is scheduled for a release on April 9th, 2010. Incidentally, this also claims that Cherrybomb will be released on that day too! We currently have no legit confirmation on this, but we are looking into it. However the website does seem pretty accurate with most release dates. Could a trailer for Wild Target not be far behind? Let’s hope so because I know we’re all looking forward to seeing Tony in action!
Don’t forget that we’re still running our contest to win a Ron Hottopic shirt and an autograph from Rupert himself! And there is still time to get your video/picture contribution in for the newest Cherrybomb campaign!
UPDATE: We can confirm by both Rupert’s agency and Launching Films representatives that these are the scheduled release date for Wild Target and Cherrybomb at this time.. Now we will keep you updated on any changes as this is still a possibility. Either way looks like both films are coming to us earlier than expected. Excited??!!!

I think an early release would be great only if HP filming doesn’t get in the way of any promotion/appearances. If it does then I won’t be a happy camper.

It shouldn’t, Jo. With knowing this far in advance, they’ll be able to re-schedule Rupert’s time on set. Plus HP will be done filming in May so his time on set is probably winding down any way.

Both released on the same day?! Wow, that day should be renamed Rupert Grint Day and declared a public holiday.
But looking at some of the movies on the list on the website. It seems as though there are some older movies like Death at a Funeral. That was released two years ago. Hopefully we can get some confirmation soon. I’m dying to see the movies.

Congratulations to those of you in the UK! Now those of us in the US have to hope for distribution deals and release dates near those as well!
I hope it won’t be the case where only the UK gets these films and the US gets only cable/DVD releases. I really want to see both films in the theater.

I think it is great to finally have a release, but… I don’t think I really like the idea of both films being released the same day. Do you know what that would mean? Rupert would have to promote two films at a time, so in the end we would have less Rupert interviews and appearances for each film

Well if they are released the same day I don’t think that would be much of a problem because that is cinema release not premiere and so the premieres can and will be scheduled on separate days.
But I do see what you are saying though which was my initial fear if they are released too early while he is doing HP stuff. God why can’t they do them in May when HP is over! It’s only one month difference. Anyway MS. SSSSSSSSSSs and you know who I know that I know who we are talking about. MS. SSSSSSSSSsss please make sure his schedule is free and clear for CB and WT promtion. Please for the love of Jesus lol.

I’m really excited about this. I would be surprised if dates don’t change because I don’t think anyone wants two movies from the same person (Rupert) out at the same time. Although I’m hoping they don’t care.
The good thing is that he’ll probably only do one day of press and one day of the premiere and it’ll be scheduled different times. I would think that it shouldn’t be too much of a problem because he might be scheduled less and less towards the end. Plus like I said, with advanced notice, they’ll be able to work with him.

Launching Films have always been pretty accurate about movie schedules.
Only time the date changes is when the distributors change the dates ala WB with HBP.
It’s just funny that both distributors chose April 9th as release dates.
Hmm, maybe this has to do with Rupert’s schedule.

I still don’t like the idea of both films being released so close in time to each other… So we’ll have double treat on April, but then NOTHING until November!
I think it would have been better to have one in April, another one in Summer and DH1 in November. That way we would have 3 separate Rupert frenzies in a year, and not 2.
