Cherrybomb Released Via IndiVision!

January 28th, 2010, 5:54am– As we told you earlier this month, Universal Pictures (UK) was said to be the distributor for Rupert Grint’s film Cherrybomb in the United Kindom! We now have a litte update on this:
It is in fact indiVISION, a sub-division of United Pictures, who will be in charge of Cherrybomb’s theatrical release as they have just announced.
indiVision describes their audience like this:
indi VISION is for film savvy fans who enjoy films outside of the mainstream – fans with a different perspective.
We will, of course, let all you savvy guys know more as soon as possible!
Oh, and while we’re at it, have you all submitted you videos and pictures for the latest challenge of our campaign? If not, do it today to staff@rupert-grint.us. Thanks!

Just a little FYI for those who are not familiar with Indivision.
I believe they were responsible for the releases of:
Avil: The Story of Anvil (Seen, one of the best documentries of the year, has a 98% score on rotten tomatoes and an 82% on Metacritic)
The Killing of John Lennon (BAFTA nominee for best new British filmmaker and Tribecca Film Festival Jury Prize winner)
Amongst other British films which are getting a lot of praise. There’s too many too list

It’s a good sign because there a sub-division of Universal whose track record with indipendent films have been very good. If they like it enough to distribute it, it should be a good sign over how potential critics and audiences will like it.

I meant they’re not there. sorry, lol

Awesome, makes me feel good it least. i can’t wait to see what they are gonna do.

That is definitely exciting. I hope we get something just as promising for the US. But I’m very happy about the UK deal! This is just awesome. With Rupert and Robbie both big in the UK, it should do pretty good there. However Rupert will probably be carrying the film here. Although if Season of the Witch is a hit, US audiences might start to pick up on Robbie too.

It’ all coming togethor for Cherrybomb and Wild Target at themo.
Indivision is backed by a huge studio (Universal) and release some of the best underground/indie pix in England.
Wild Target’s US distribution Samuel Goldwyn Company, although not nearly as spotless as Indivision is deals with mostly decent flicks. But despite the fact that their occasionally releasing a crasp film or two, they’re mostly interesting.
