Daniel Radcliffe Talks Rupert Grint In BD-Live Event!December 12, 2009, 5:14pm–Currently Warner Brothers is hosting a BD-Live event for Rupert Grint‘s latest film project, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince which is currently released on DVD all around the world. Producer David Barron and co-star Daniel Radcliffe are answering fan questions and they have talked about Rupert quite a bit! Below are some of the things they’ve said. We’ll update the post as we get new tidbits. My personal favorite? Rupert getting goggles to ride his hovercraft at night!
- Dan mentioned a rule he and Rupert shared, in that if they have a birthday and aren’t on set for it, they won’t receive a present.
- Dan noted that while Slughorn and Ron are rather outgoing characters on-screen, Jim Broadbent and Rupert Grint, respectively, are shy off-screen.
- Dan lists Rupert’s cars: bright-orange Range Rover; ice cream van with repairs; used to have a mini-cooper with Knight Rider designs; a Chevy pick-up truck that never works (which he brings onto the set to show off); a hovercraft. He said that Rupert wouldn’t be the kind of person to show off what he bought, and would just mention it in passing. David also got night-goggles for Rupert so he can ride on his hovercraft in the dark.
- Rupert and the others will be aged for the epilogue!
- Both David and Dan have said their favorite Weasley is Ron!
- The froth in Rupert’s mouth during Ron’s poisoning scene is actually egg white!
- Dan talked about dying Tom’s hair and because they have to do it so much, Tom gets recognized a lot and mentions that Rupert gets recognized for hair color as well!
- Dan has also said that Rupert and the twins are very close!
- Dan said that he and Rupert had great fun filming fighting over the book scene in HBP. Any excuse to hit each other on screen is welcomed!
- Dan also called Rupert very expressive!
- Dan said he doesn’t think Rupert realizes he’s a ‘physical comedy genius’ and that he does it naturally. David Barron said that Rupert is the biggest giggler to which Dan noted that it’s easy to make him laugh and he can’t resist getting a joke in before the take of the scene. Says though that when they’re both in that type of mood, everything becomes funny and that’s his favorite moments.

I love that Rupert has night goggles! I bet they look sexy on him, lol. Oh, I just want to give Dan a big hug. No only because he always has so many great things to say about Rupert, but his favourite Weasley is Ron! Ha! It’s so Rupert, having a pick-up truck…that doesn’t work.

about the hovercraft; “…..what I love about Rupert is that he will have the hovercraft for maybe a year before he mentions it. If I had a hovercraft I’d come in and be GUESS WHAT I JUST GOT!!! But Rupert is quite happy to not to mention it and then one day he’ll just quietly go like …’oh I took the hovercraft out..’ YOU WHAT?!!

This just makes me day. My favourite thing in the world is Danpert. There’s nothing I love more than hearing Dan talk about Rupert and how they have fun, so, this is all I need in life, lol. Any excuse for them to hit each other?/?!!

Oh! I am developing a whole new level of respect for Dan now….all the things he has said abt Rupert are so endearing….and how true abt Rupert being a shy and a modest person abt everything…Rupert is such a Sweetheart truly…[:)]
