November 30th, 2009, 12:26 pm– While there are no major news today, we have a few tidbits about Rupert Grint’s upcoming films to share with you!
First, videobusiness.com has a report about the new Harry Potter DVDs, along with a new quote about the infamous Horcrux scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Rupert’s performance in it:
In one scene, “a horcrux [carrying a piece of Voldemort’s soul] defends itself by producing nightmarish visions, and one shows Hermione and Harry embracing and kissing,” explained Yates. “It’s something intriguing and sensual for Rupert to react to, and Dan will be bare for that.”
Other sites have been reporting that Rupert’s co-star Daniel Radcliffe would appear naked in this scene (despite the fact that Dan’s representatives had denied these rumours a while ago). To continue the discussion of what some of us staff thought. This could easily be mis-quoted. It could mean bear witness as in Harry will be there to witness what’s happening, or it might not even mean he will be naked butthe kiss itself will be sensual. And why not just say he will be naked? It is huge news and they know the fans reactions would be insane so why be so vague?
To add to your comment Jo, the other thing was maybe a misunderstanding and he actually said Dan will be THERE for it. I agree though… why not say he’ll be naked? And why even mention it since it’s not a big deal? They won’t show him naked so it’s sort of a mute point. lol I mean, they did make sure to deny any claims that Dan would be naked at King’s Cross so why make a big deal about it here?
I realized now Leaky hadn’t previously posted the news about Dan naked in DH. Could they have just recycled the old news?
I don’t wanna see Dan naked. Isn’t this supposed to be PG-13?
This is from a new article… from videobusiness.com. I guess they interviewed Yates recently. Probably since they are doing onset interviews to promote HBP DVD they were on set to interview Yates. Or they had a phone interview. Either way though it’s pretty recent.
Dan is not going to be literally naked in any scene in HP. The most we’ll see is him being topless and maybe just maybe a glimpse of a backside like at King’s Cross. I think the whole Dumbledore is gay information may have cause them to rethink the literal translation of that scene. Naked boy with adult man. I just wish they’d thought how sensual it would be to have Ron be bare in some form. Now that would’ve been a great idea. :0

The quote sounds like the one that was in the Brazillian magazine a few months ago, which was denied by Dan’s reps. It looks as though the quote has been recycled. I really doubt Dan will be naked in the Silver Doe scene nor will it be sensual since they made so much effort into making the HBP relationships so PG. It doesn’t make sense to suddenly make HP a MA movie. I agree, Yates would have said naked instead of bare if this was true. Plus, it doesn’t make sense for Harry to be naked in that scene anyway. Doesn’t WB go to alot of effort in keeping the finer details of DH a secret? Why would there be such a big ‘leak’ by the film’s director?
Well according to that interview Heyman said he never liked releasing extra stuff but changed his mind when they thought about the economy and how bad things are. I guess they want to really give the folks their money’s worth! It makes sense to me and it is a good move on their part.
Sounds like they are doing what Twilight people do, release all kinds of stuff because that’s what the Twilight fans want and I know lots of HP fans were upset cause WB would never release all kinds of teaser stuff on HP. Give the fans what they want.

Just for the record, none of this has been “recycled”. This is a new quote from Yates. Also, I think everyone is well aware that Dan isn’t *literally* going to be naked. But the implication can be there be 100% pg-13.
I’m glad the WB is finally taking note. I don’t care what you want, Mr. Heyman. The fans want the extras. We’ve been upset for years now. lol
I took “bare” to be a typo, when it should read “there,” as in “Dan will be there” in the scene. Maybe I’m wrong.
But if it’s true, what about Emma? Are they just going to CGI her in? It’s strange that Yates would mention Dan but not mention Emma. Hmmm. In any case, if she’s in it, the Harmonians are going to go apeshit over this.
I agree Quotidias, it might be a misquote or something. I have a hard time believing that the WB would let Dan be stark naked in that scene. They have a tendency to water down JK Rowling’s work. I mean, in the HBP book, Ron/Lav were sucking each other’s faces off. And in the movie, not so much. They decided to focus on how insane and smitten Lav was with Ron, and Ron mentioning to Harry on the train that all she wanted to do was snog him. Which kind of sucked because I was looking forward to seeing Ron/Lav execute the ‘hoover maneuver’. lol
And it’s also very strange that since Dan and Emma are kissing in that scene, that’s it not all over the media. I mean, it was such a big deal for Rupert and Emma to kiss. You would think that Dan and Emma would be making comments about it by now, unless they haven’t filmed that scene yet. In any case, wouldn’t Emma be just as uncomfortable kissing Dan as kissing Rupert? She’s known them for equally as long.
If you read up, you’ll see we all had the same thoughts. The other was Yates meant that Dan will be bearing witness to it. Believe me, I am hoping my ranting is for nothing. I want to be wrong!
I also don’t think it’s the H/Hr kiss where they’ll be naked. I think it’s suppose to be this idea after comes out of the lake that instead of getting dressed in freezing cold weather, he just stands there naked watching Ron. :\
That said, I of course don’t believe we’ll be seeing full frontal. But the implied nudity could still happen. The WB has never shied away from sexual implication!
I agree that Yates may have been misquoted, it does sound a bit weird saying ‘Dan will be bare for it’ why not just say naked. However, I do remember reading somewhere earlier in the year that the H/Hr vision will be CGI and not actually Dan and Emma.
