October 13, 2009, 7:45 AM–Our friends with the Movie-Fanatic website have always been very fond of Rupert Grint and supportive of his career, thus it is no surprise to see Rupert featured on their list of Ten Most Underrated Young Actors. Here’s what Jed Medina with tMF had to say:
Playing one of the main characters in the Harry Potter series gave Rupert Grint the kind of world-wide recognition reserved to a chosen few. He is definitely not your usual boy-next-door young star who prefers to play traditional roles given to teens in Hollywood. [...]
His goal to polish his craft by exploring other characters beside Ron Weasley appears to be making headways. He made Driving Lessons in 2006 and this year – two feature films Cherrybomb and Wild Target – will further allow the young actor to prove he has what it takes to suceed in the movie business.

It’s a good list overall. God knows I’d love to see more of Patrick Fugit, he was awesome in Almost Famous.
For some reason my computer will not let me access the tMF site. (?) Glad to hear he’s being discussed as atypical though.
Yea, it popped up then said couldn’t access it and it went away.
Glad to know us fans are not the only ones who see he is so underused and appreciated. Who else is on the list?
talley, go to http://www.themovie-fanatic.com I went to the main site instead of using the link and was able to read it. I’m glad he’s mentioned, but I wish the person who wrote up Rupert’s article had taken some writing lessons
I was first to comment on the site…
but it was good to see that people have realised that Rupert is always side tracked in the industry….
Cant wait for the world to see CherryBomb to see his true Talent…more recognition…*Fingers crossed*
omg… yes… more reconognition….
left me speechless … Rupert is recognized more and more … That should make us very happy ..
Well, it seems that more and more people are finally waking up to the fact that our Rupert is so talented and his talent is often wasted in HP. I’m so happy that people are realising this, but I always say that its better to be underrated than overrated.
I feel that overrated and Hollywood sterotypes are often treated as gimmicks in movies to get butts on seats and the movie suffers for it, plus they are not treated a genuine actors anyway, just some kid with somewhat good looks who got lucky.
I always have trouble accessing that site, however, for the brief moment was was about to read the list (by opening Netscape navigator), the one other name that I recognized besides Lou Pucci (sp?) was one of my other indie actor favorites Patrick Fugit. Just had to give a shout out, cause I love Saved and Wristcutters: A Love Story…
That being said, I honestly hope that Rupert blossoms into a great actor (yes, he’s great to us, but you know what I mean), and has the opportunity to do different things. In the indie world (of which I am a fan, but PLEASE let it be stuff that gets some type of release), and in some mainstream (but not typical) fare…
AJ you have a good point. To us Rupert is amazing in his profession but other folks need to see it too. I think they are though. Every year seems to get better for him and for those who have been awhile now you can attest to that so next year should even be bigger.
Okay it’s Wednesday! lol! Where are these pics?
*lol at Vanessa*
Like, cut the crap, where’s the pics…hehehehe.
LOL I agree AJ,” In the indie world (of which I am a fan, but PLEASE let it be stuff that gets some type of release),” hahaha, that’s right!
I also have problems with the movie fanatic…:( But i always insist till i can see it…I’m begging to become a fan of them!
hehe
*I’m starting to become a fan of them
