Gala: Cherrybomb Screened At Italian Film Festival, Receives Great Reviews!
August 8, 2009, 10:13 AM–Rupert Grint’s film Cherrybomb was screened last month at the 39th Giffoni Film Festival, which took place from 12 to 25th July in Gifonni Valle Piana, near Salerno and Naples (South Italy). The film was shown in the Generation 16 category, and although it didn’t win (the award went to the film My Suicide, the same one who beat Cherrybomb at the Berlinale as well), the film received very good reviews. Many thanks to Anna who helped me translate this review by Aldo Spiniello. Here’s what he had to say about Rupert:
The pair of directors don’t waste their time trying to demonstrate a strikingly original style, they have faith in the pale face of Rupert Grint (who has finally freed himself from the Harry Potter label), and they content themselves with a few simple solutions, such as the text messages materializing onto the screen, as the sign of an increasingly shorter and more painful communication.

If you expect Rupert Grint to be somewhat slow and dumb just like he is in the HARRY POTTER films, you will be positively surprised. Grint is capable of being more than a sorcerers apprentice sidekick. In CHERRYBOMB he shows off his sexy and wild side.
Since this review is hosted on the Britspotting Festival website, perhaps this means that Cherrybomb will also be screened there in November! Their feature film selection is still in progress, so we will keep you updated. This is a German festival, taking place in Berlin, so German fans, get ready to see Malachy again!

Gosh, I love these reviews.
It just proves that Rupert is by far one of the most talented younger people out there. He can do so much comedy, drama, even physical comedy which is quite hard from what I understand.

Wow, that Italian review was very thought-provoking and thorough. (Next time when I watch a film, I’ll try to be aware of all its messages and meanings.) They make me want to see Cherrybomb even more, if that’s possible.

Harry Potter Fan Site, UHP has been informed that in the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, David Yates has decided to show Hogwarts Battle sequence also known as the Battle of the Astronomy Tower.
The actors that confirmed present are Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley),
Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom),
Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) – The three original member of Dumbledore’s Army.
Also, according to the site, All the heads/representative of the four Hogwarts Houses are present in the scene:
Maggie Smith (Prof. McGonagall – Gryffindor),
Miriam Margoyles (Prof. Pomona Sprout – Hufflepuff),
Jim Broadbent (Prof. Horace Slughorn – Slytherin)
Warwick Davis (Prof. Flitwick – Ravenclaw).
The website also notes that the scene of the attack of Fenrir Greyback to Bill Weasley, which had to happen in the sixth film will take place at the scene of the 7 Potters.

“Bill Weasley will appear at the Dursleys, At this time he is not yet disfigured by Fenrir Greyback.”
Another scene added in the first part of the film is this tour at the Ministry of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour (played by Bill Nighy), The New Minister for Magic, successor to Cornelius Fudge make his speech and announces to the wizarding world that hard times lie ahead and that, basically, War is officially begun.

This fact made its way into the Green Been Teen Queen’s review of NERD, which, in turn, must have shown up when the good folks at rupert-grint.us did their very own “Rupert Grint” google search (I’m just guessing) because they mentioned NERD on their blog! Well now that they’ve split DH in two films I guess they can add all those scenes that should have been in HBP… though I don’t understand why they need the Astronomy Tower battle in DH 1 if Heyman’s reason for omitting it from HBP was to “avoid repeats”. *duh*

Actually it was the battle at Hogwarts that would be repetitious, not necessarily any scenes like the Burrow. I disagreed with the decision and it especially is bad if they are going to re-add it in DH1. What’s the point?! :\

The only way I can see the battle of the astronomy tower making any sense is that it shows the Carrows (sp?) and such breaking into the school and taking over.
