July 05, 2009, 9:58am–Rupert Grint and co-star Daniel Radcliffe taped an interview with Australian show Rove Live last week to promote Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and it has aired today! Thanks to Suzeeq for letting us know that Nessie from the R/E Forums has captured it and has released it on YouTube! You can view the video here! If anyone else has a better recording please do not hesitate to send it to us. We would very much appreciate it!

UPDATE 2: We have discovered this interview with Steve Kloves: among other things, he talks about Quiddich and praises Rupert!
I know one thing David [Yates] is very proud of is getting Quidditch right. I do think it’s the first time that it feels like a sport. And it’s comic, which is fun. Rupert Grint (who plays Ron) is great. We also do a lot with the kids coming of age, navigating sexual politics and all that.

The wand thing was toooo funny. LoL. And Rupert is the sweetest guy ever. He answered the questions so genuinely seriously. I couldn’t understand very good, I think the tone was a but bad, but did Rupert say he rather meet a Death Eater than a spider?? LMAO gotta love that man.
And I did see some mustache there. Yay for scruff!!!!

LOL I liked when he said he just wants to know what happens next with that “drill to the head” pic. And, bless him for saying he would still cry if he encountered a deadly spider. Poor thing, but I guess that would be true for anyone.

If that’s the case, then Rupert is barely taller than Dan. lol Seriously. Celebheights has Rove listed as 5’7.5″ and Rove claims 5’8″. Rupert looks around an inch taller (hard to tell since they don’t truly stand face to face) and he probably has about a half inch more shoe than Rove so Rupert is a strong 5’8″ and probably a little taller.

Yeah, I think if Rove is 5’7.5″ or 5’8″ like his claim, then Rupert is definitely closer to 5’9″. Tom Felton was recently described as 5’8.5″ and if you look at the pictures of Rupert and Tom at the OotP premiere, Rupert is probably the same height or slightly taller. He’s around an inch shorter (if that) in the pics and Tom has on way better shoes, probably like a half inch or so more than Rupert (a not standing tall Rupert I might add). Because it’s an estimation. LOL No one is right or wrong in an estimation here… but when I see things like this, I can see above 5’8″. But still, would anyone really notice a quarter or a half inch with the 5’8″ estimation? That would be very hard to tell. I mean, my mom has always been a half inch taller than me, but it was barely noticeable.

Fun interview. Was disappointed they weren’t interviewed together. I’d love to see them feed off each other in that type of interview. All I got to say is didn’t Rupert look great? Really really great. His hair looked so soft and his face was so sweet. Did not care as a redhead myself of the “ranga” mention. Not find funny whatsoever.

i loved the interview when i saw it last night on tv. how sweet was rupert. out of all the props on set, he takes home a tie.
‘ranga’ is a term of endearment in australia to describe readheads. it’s not insulting and i don’t think rove was being rude or anything. it’s just the aussie humour coming out.
anonymous, i think dan said that he has heard the word ‘bloodnut’ being used in australia to describe a redhead (another term of endearment!) and said that he will be calling rupert a ranga from now on. i think dan says ‘you will be called that for the rest of your life. live with it grint!’
