June 30, 2009 at 2:17 am– In a new interview with the Times of India, Rupert Grint talks about how sometimes he gets confused for Ron, his more adult role in Cherrybomb, and even the prospect of working on a Bollywood film!
A lot of Hollywood stars, including Sylvester Stallone, are coming down to be a part of Bollywood. Would you feature in a Bollywood film, if a good role comes along?
Yeah, Bollywood looks like great fun. I’m okay as long as it isn’t a dancing role, as I definitely don’t think I’ll manage to pull off some of those moves! Indian movies are colourful and I love the music.

Aself-confessed Harry Potter fan, Rupert Grint had approached the production company by sending a video that he made of himself. From then on, Rupert and Harry Potter’s best friend Ron Weasley have been one. Getting under the skin of the tall, gangly character with bright red hair and freckles, who has a way of keeping things lighthearted, was challenging no doubt. But Rupert pulled off the adventures of the ‘pure-blood’ boy wizard with characteristic ease. The 21-year-old lowers his Ron mask in an interview to CT.
• Do you ever get confused between your real identity and that of Ron Weasley?
It’s not that we are entirely different. We do share some similarities but Ron’s world and mine are completely different. I think the Muggles get confused as they see Ron before they see Rupert!
• While directing Prisoner of Azkaban, its director Alfonso Cuaron had reportedly said that Grint is the “the likely future star out of the Hogwarts trio”. How flattering was the report?
Of course, I’m flattered. I would say I’m plain lucky that I enjoy what I do and people enjoy seeing what I do.
• With your earnings from the Harry Potter series, you had purchased an ice-cream van and even stated jokingly that if your career falls out after the series, you’ll still have the van. Are you apprehensive about not getting good roles after Harry Potter?
I just hope I carry on after Potter. Even if it does end here, the profession of an ice-cream man wouldn’t be so bad.
• News was that you would do a nude scene in the thriller, Cherrybomb. When an actor ventures into adult roles from being a superhero for children, doesn’t acceptability become a problem?
I’m not entirely naked in Cherrybomb. All I’ve revealed is just my top half. But it is much more of an adult role. I don’t think acceptability should be a problem as the audience has also grown up with us. But yes, I’m sure hearing me swear might shock a few people.
• How aware are you of Bollywood?
I’ve heard of Bollywood. I loved watching Slumdog Millionaire. But, I don’t know if that counts as Bollywood!

Not really a huge fan of Bollywood movies (except Slumdog Millionaire, but just like Rupert I’m not sure if that counts?) but this as a nice interview and I’m sure he’d be amazing in whatever roles he accepts

Yesterday, in the morning, I commented with a friend at LiveJournal that Rupert being an icecream man would be only a joke because there is always the possibilty of Bollywood first for any famous actor.
Late at night, I went to a performance of my daughter’s ballet school and they train dancers for Bollywood there.
So the show was full with the songs, dances and colors of their musicals.
There was also a screen showing scenes of the movies and looking at them, I couldn’t help in think in my early comment and thought that Rupert would be a success there only by his presence and his different look.
This morning, I’m once again, speechless with the coincidence.
