June 27, 2009, 3:30 am–In a new interview with the Telegraph actor Rupert Grint talks about the long awaited kiss between he and his Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson, and even opens up a little bit about his personal relationships with girls.
“I’ve never been seriously involved with anyone. I’ve certainly never been in love. I’ve always preferred to keep things casual,” he said. It’s not that I find it hard to meet girls – they do come up and chat me up from time to time. Sometimes I’m interested, I tend not to go for the prettier ones. I prefer the quirkier types.”
As for Ron and Hermione, recently Emma Watson announced that the two had indeed filmed the scene but kept her comment very vague saying it took about six takes and they were done. Rupert calling the experience uncomfortable because Emma is like a sister to him still manages to give us a bit more details on what it was like for the two!
“We were determined to get it right the first time, but our first try was a disaster because we both felt so self-conscious and we couldn’t stop laughing.”
Note: There’s a bit of a heartbreaking confession toward the end of this article, rest assured that we here at ICM will do whatever we can to make sure this isn’t a lingering feeling.

Thank you Soph.

Come on Rupert! You are just an amazing actor!! There is a lot of people that know that already. Believe in yourself! You are just great! And super hot!!! Cant you see?
I like it that he give us more details about the kiss! And I hope we can get more in the next days.
I submitted this as news.
I can’t believe he doesn’t realize how good he is.
I think I need to sit him down and have a talk with him.
I love Rupert’s modest nature, but it’s just too much!
Someone should tell him how much we love his acting!
And I love more information on the Kiss)))
Sit him down and talk to him. Hug him. Show him what his fandom is made of…that we’re here to stay and it has little to do with sheer fame. It’s more than that!
I honestly feel like I’ve sort of failed him as a fan a little.
Man Rupert don’t do this.
Number 1: Okay. I don’t think I’ve ever loved him as much as I do right this second.
Number 2: RUPERT, REALLY!? Ugh! Jo, next time you see him, smack him. Then kiss him, and tell him he’s a crazy person if he doesn’t think he’s good.
Rupert baby, you’re good. Real, real good. You’re great in fact. Ugh…… If he stops doing movies…. I’ll pay someone to punt me off a building. What will I have to live for? (yes, my life really sucks that much)
I can’t believe…
He doesn’t know how talented he is.
He should know that we love him for his talent, his acting, for his modesty, his sweetness… and many more. Not just because he plays Ron.
Maybe we should speak louder
Man, he just makes me love him more and want to stand in front of his face and yell that he’s great at acting
and then hug him
(and then maybe run away
)
“I honestly feel like I’ve sort of failed him as a fan a little.”
Me too. Oh Rupes……..
“It’s always at the back of my mind that acting might come to an end for me when Harry Potter finishes. I don’t know if I’m good enough to have a long career,” he said.
“I’ve got a bit of an inferiority complex about my acting. My self-esteem is quite low in that sense.”
I just got very teary and upset reading that the second time. The first time, I had to make a circle around my room, re-iron my hair, and then read again.
Darling Rupert.
I’m really steaming over here. I just wanna smack him in the mouth! (no I don’t)
Yeah, we’re all getting a little emotional about this. ICM girls are going to bring it though, don’t you worry!
Oh, Rupert, Rupert, Rupert…
*shakes head*
And then to top it all off, he’s never had a girlfriend. What is going on in the world?
Well, Prof. Trelawney knows her sh*t…. the natal chart analysis is 100% correct.
Ivana!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, seducing a Virgo/Capricorn type may be the most difficult task in the world… but it’s worth it.
“It’s always at the back of my mind that acting might come to an end for me when Harry Potter finishes. I don’t know if I’m good enough to have a long career,” he said.
“I’ve got a bit of an inferiority complex about my acting. My self-esteem is quite low in that sense.”
*has no words* How can he not know? this makes me so sad…If I knew him I’d tell him everyday how amazing he is. God I can realte to him so much now, I know what it’s like to have low self esteem
I feel your pain Rupert! But you have no reason at all to have low self esteem, you’re so talented!
It’s cool that he doesn’t seem to care much about the girl’s looks…
this is one of my favorite interviews with him now, but it makes me so sad
LMAO, Ivana!
I don’t know whether if I wanna slap him because that’s nonsense or kiss him because he’s just so damn humble/modest/absolutely perfect!
Then again, I couldn’t slap him because I just don’t have the heart to. I love him too much!
He needs someone who’s job it is to tell him the truth, and every morning that someone tells him he’s awesome and he’ll do great things.
I’m still a little speechless.
Cookie:
And we love him for so many more reasons than most fans love the object of their…ummm…fanning…
It’s more than a pretty face and a blockbuster film!
He needs to stop letting things get to him. He doesn’t realize how many people believe in him. He’s gotten this far because he has the talent. Lord have mercy.
