Rupert Grint: More Magazine Scans And The First Half-Blood Prince Review!

June 27, 2009, 12:52PM–An ever increasing number of international magazines is doing features on the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. Many thanks to our friends Jessica, Kathy and Melina for sending us the most recent scans! Jessica has scanned Rupert/Ron related pages from two Mexican magazines, “Premiere” and “Notas para ti”: among them is a great image of Ron Weasley in full quiddich gear! While Kathy and Melina have scanned the entire six page feature from the German magazine “Kino&Co”. View the scans in our gallery: Premiere, Notas para ti, Kino&Co. If anyone can provide translations, please send them over!

Also, we have a scan from Mexican “Cinemania” magazine, courtesy of Snitch Seeker — there’s a tiny Rupert interview, thus a translation would be muchly appreciated! View it here.

The same site has found the very first “official” review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! Although the critic does not mention Rupert specifically, he does say that the film is Oscar worthy, and adds: “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a tour-de-force that combines style and substance, special effects and heart and most importantly great performances from all of the actors young and not-so-young.” Excited? Me too! Read it here.

UPDATE: Thanks again to Kathy and Melina, who have translated the Rupert bits from the German article:

“Rupert Grint began his film career literally from zero, and straight to Blockbusters. For, his first very role was Ron Weasley in the first Potter movie.
Red-haired, pale, freckles and jug ears. Honestly who would have thought that some day someone like that would actuate panic and fans’ fainting fits in the Oxfort Street in London?
The fact is simple: Ron Weasley alias Rupert Grint is one of the most likable characters in the Potter movies. J. K. Rowling could’ve killed anybody by the Deatheaters, but not Ron! Not only because his congenial duffer attitude, or Rupert Grint’s pearly screen-filling smirk. The answer simply lies in the natural talent of the 20-year-old from the English town of Stevenage. He became an actor because of his love for the Potter books, and auditioned for the role performing hiphop lines. Let’s hope that he will stick to his occupation after the last installment. Maybe he’ll star in a film about a red-haired rapper with magic powers.”

UPDATE 2: We have now a translation from Cinemania magazine Rupert‘s interview:

How you felt with the romantic scenes? We just did de kissing scenes. We really didn’t talk about it that much; we don’t analize it or rehearse. But the day we did it I was a bit nervous because we had to do it in front of a room full of people cuz when it happens it’s after a quidditch game. At the end we did it in 7 or 8 takes.

Does Ron changes in this new movie?  Well yeah, he is a bit more confident because he has a girlfriend.

Did you surprise knowing that Ron and Hermione end up together? I already expect that. Even before Deathly Hallows was out I already imagine it will be that way. It will be weird because we are like brothers but I will worry about that when the moment arrive.

What do you think about all the directors of the saga?David is the most laid back; it would be cool to get Tarantino to direct movie seven (this was before Yates was confirmed to remain until the end).

  1. KC says:

That would be cool if Rupert was in an Oscar film. :)

  2. Ivana says:

Seriously, HP films have always been snubbed by the Academy; it’s time these things changed. Maybe Warner Bros is to blame though, they never promoted HP flicks as Oscar contenders (except for the categories such as special effects, soundtrack and such.)

  3. KC says:

    Maybe someone will nominate. ;)

  4. francaise3 says:

Dear WB, please release some of these studio shot images. Thank you. Also, promote Rupert as an oscar contender. We know he’s ruling in this movie.

They mentioned his trade mark smirk!

I’m glad all this stuff is coming out about how great an actor he is. I hope he reads this stuff. :) Rupert, you’re terrific!

  8. Carolyn says:

If HBP is Oscar-worthy, it’s certainly Rupert that plays a big part in that.

  9. Jo says:

Rupert is Oscar worthy all by himself. Just make a cast of his body and make him the new golden award figure.

  10. Ivana says:

    ^^^^^ roflmao!!!!
