Gala: New Half Blood Prince Posters Featuring Rupert Grint
June 17, 2009, 8:31 AM–Two new movie posters for Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince have been released by WarnerBrosUK featuring Rupert Grint and his two leading ladies Emma Watson and Jessie Cave. These two posters are a wish come true for many fans since they focus on the love triangle between Ron, Hermione and Lavender. The first poster shows Hermione in the background with a snugly Ron and Lavender behind her. The second features a proud Ron decked out in his Quidditch gear with a swooning Lavender on his arm and a forlorn Hermione in the background.

UPDATE: There is a new interview published online with Steve Kloves. While the interview mainly focuses on his career, he does mention that Rupert is great in Half Blood Prince and that he enjoyed seeing Ron navigate his first girlfriend. LATimesBlogs.

LMAO. A dream come true, indeed. How long have we been talking about the need for a triangle poster and now we even get two of them. And Ron looks so smug on the one where Lavender hangs at his arm, adoring him. LoL
And we have finally wallpapers. Now I have Ron in Quidditch gear as my desktop background, I soon will have same motive as a t-shirt and someday I’ll have it as an actual poster on my walls.

OMG!! The posters!! O_O You stole my words, guys!! A dream come true!! ^^
BTW, there’s something I *really* don’t like about Kloves’s interview… He said that he likes writing for the three of them instead of for the characters, as it should be, so that confirms what we all knew… He’s mesmerized with Emma/Hermione so he popularizes her up in the films… ¬¬ I think that comment about him leaving if anyone of the trio leaves is just stupid in my opinion… I almost want the giant spider which is at his back to attack him!! XO

I also dont like another point in Kloves’ interview. He talked about the part where people applauded Hagrid when he came back and said that was a violation to the character and that he was upset. Well, isn’t his obsession with his favourite ship the biggest, the most violent and cruel crime to the characters?
Thankfully, he sat down and started to respect the last two books (or he finally realized how powerful we’ve become to protect and support our redhead and the cannon world

Right on BonnieRadcliffe and Andrea!!! My sentiments exactly. Kloves makes me almost afraid to see the next three movies without being in the safety of my home where I can skip the delutional scenes and cuss loudly without being told to leave. His apparent obsession with Emma is very creepy…
But on to what or who is really important…Rupert…simply beautiful. The posters give my hope that it won’t be in vain when I drag my hubbie to HBP next month…then my niece…then anyone else (strangers on the street)…

Wow, harsh.
I thought the interview actually gave a good insight over how much influence a director has over the final product (including the script), versus the screenwriter. It could be one reason why the characters may seem “more” in character in one movie over another, even though they were written by the same person, but directed by a different director.
Anyway, love the quidditch Ron poster with Lavender fangirling him. If possible, that one is going to be framed and hanging in my bedroom someday.

humm…maybe I am being a bit too harsh…*remembers POA* no actually, I mean it, I hate the man. That may be true about the director’s influence but there’s no excuse to the amount of Ron lines that Kloves gave to Hermione, and how he made him look like an extra for most of the time. There’s just no excuse for that to me. The directors have changed almost every year, the common factor is Kloves (I thought OotP!Ron was better, so that just prooves it more for me) and although the fault may not be 100% his, most of it is his fault indeed imo. It may be harsh, and I admit I wouldn’t say “go rot in hell” to him in his face, but I would tell him, politely, that I think he failed doing his job over the years when it came to the characters – Ron, mostly, but also Hermione. I’d have no problem at all saying to him if he was standing here at my side right now.
