May 20, 2009, 11:35 AM–As the release of Rupert Grint‘s new film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince draws nearer, the very first clip from the film has been shown on the “Ellen” show!
It features Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley in a hilarious scene under the influence of the Chocolate Cauldrons that Romilda Vane had filled with Love Potion, and his interaction with Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter.

You can watch the scene here! Thanks Katie for the heads-up!

On another Harry-Potter related note: We are currently making plans for the premieres of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Japan, London and New York. If you are planning to attend either of the premieres, let us know here in the forums , because staff will be present and we think it would be great to meet you all in person.

Reminder: Don’t forget to help making sure that Rupert’s other film Cherrybomb makes it into theatres!

UPDATE: More HBP footage can be seen on this Dutch website – click on the “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Featurette”! It mostly focuses on Harry and Dumbledore, however there are a few Ron scenes we haven’t seen before.

Oh and God bless Ellen for choosing this scene… Are we correct to assume that she’s a Rupert fan? ;) (or she simply picked out the best scene)

  12. lol, Lilly, that’s hilarious!

And you know, how come YOU post a drawing of Rupert in THAT bed, and next we get a clip of him in that very bed?!

    *g*

  13. “Can’t you go and be stupid somewhere else”

  17. I expected this scene to be great, but what we saw was beyond my expectations! Rupert was brilliant! )))))))))

  18. OMG. Rupert is BRILLIANT!!! I swore not to watch anymore clips but I couldn’t help myself. LOL Hurry up July 15th.

  19. Rupert is such a brilliant actor.

OK I read back on the comments again. Apparently Brilliant is the word of the day. ;)

  20. Oh and MTV says that Rupert will be present in the MTV awards to introduce a HBP clip..

    http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/05/20/mtv-movie-awards-clip-premieres-first-twilight-and-now-harry-potter/

    YES!!!!!

  21. Yep, the boy IS BRILLIANT!!! His expressions are just spot on.

  22. Oh my gosh! That was hilarious!!!!

  23. Trio together. I like that. :)

I am assuming it will be pre-corded for the show though.

  24. When is it airing? I can’t view the site from work.

  25. Its on May 31 I think.

  26. Oh, okay thanks. I normally don’t watch it but I’m sure it’ll end up on YT.

  27. I LOVE the part in the Dutch video where Lavender breaths on the window and draws a heart with an R and and L!! XD It’s so funny!! XD

I’m starting to dislike Harry in this film… I think Daniel could have pulled off better the ‘Who are YOU talking about??’ line, and make it funnier. And then, I didn’t like the tone he used on Ron to say: ‘I don’t need any luck, I’m with Dumbledore’. Thanks Merlin that the ONLY thing Ron did was to wish him good luck!! XD

  28. the HBP featurette: love lavender writing R+L on the window, but the Ellen clip is THE funniest thing I’ve ever seen. he’s too talented and cute to be true

  29. That.Was.

    HILARIOUS!! :D

Even better than I’d imagined! Ron practically sitting in Harry’s lap and Harry leaning waaaaay back, like, “DUDE!”

LOL! Then Ron chucking the box at him…ROFLMAO!!

And that featurette is AWESOME! This is going to be the best one yet!

  30. There are no words to describe the perfection of Rupert Grint. This scene was amazing. I am so FLIPPING giddy right now!!!

  31. Oh and I loved when he said, “Good luck, mate.” in that other clip. He has the sweetest voice ever. He is such an amazing actor to pull off all of this. That’s what I was thinking looking at him, in Harry’s lap (lol!) and all googly eyed. He just brings it. Everytime! And Lilly…that scared the crap out of me! LOL!!!
