Rupert Grint: Wild Target Promoted at Cannes!

Rupert Grint: Wild Target Promoted at Cannes!

May 18, 2009, 6:36PM–We recently reported that Wild Target starring Rupert Grint, Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt has landed a distribution deal with U.K. exhib chain Vue Entertainment. Now “IOM Today” is reporting that Isle of Man Film representatives have attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote Manx films!

Excerpt: Three films will also be promoted to distributors – Heartless, directed by Philip Radley, and Wild Target, a hitman caper starring Bill Nighy and Helena Bonham Carter – which were both filmed last year.

‘The whole of the film production industry is going through a difficult time so it’s important we have a really active presence.’Β  It’s a very prestigious event and it has been crucial in establishing and maintaining links with film producers and distributors and helped cement our position as a leading independent film financier in the British Isles and therefore Europe,’ he explained.

The North American Distribution process for Wild Target is being handled by Cinetic Media.

Hey guys

I know this is unrelated to this news post, but I thought some of you might be interested to know this anyway.

I just found out on Google News that Rupert’s “Cherrybomb” co-star Robert Sheehan (Luke) is set to star in a new film called “I Was Bono’s Doppleganger”, a comedy based on the autobiography of music journalist Neil McCormick. Rob co-stars with Charlie Cox (Stardust, Casanova) and will be directed by Nick Hamm (The Hole). It is likely to be shot in Dublin, Belfast and London in August.

More info can be found at these links (one of these includes a new picture of Rob):

http://www.movies.ie/html/article.aspx?articleid=4822

These articles also state that Robert has recently wrapped filming on “Season of the Witch”, co-starring with Nicholas Cage.

It’s great news for him (Rob), isn’t it?

As I said, I know this isn’t strictly related to this news post, but I thought y’all would like to know anyway.

I hope this is OK with mods.
