May 4, 2009, 8:45 AM–The latest, May 2009 edition of Cinemanía Magazine (in Spanish) has an exclusive feature on “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince”. Although there are no new images, there’s a cute Rupert Grint quote, as well as another one by the director David Yates who talked about the Quiddich scenes.
Rupert had the following to say about the kiss:
“There’s a kiss with Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) that was a little awkward. Back when we were shooting that scene, I didn’t really know Jesse, and there were a bunch of people around us, and it was after a Quidditch match, and Ron’s head had gotten a little big, so it wasn’t particularly romantic…”
David Yates let us know what to expect from the Quiddich scenes:
“Thanks to (advanced) technology, we have managed to make a few improvements. I often thought of Quidditch as a very violent game, what with the players flying at the top of the speed, and crashing with each other . . . sort of like American Football.”

Well to be honest it’s not suppose to be a real emotional kiss anyway. More like two teens going at it for the first time, so no need to get the “mood” just right. I agree with Yates it always seemed Quidditch would be more violent.

I still love that photo at the breakfast table, especially the way Ron and Hermione are looking at each other. I have a feeling, based on their expressions, that this is the part some screeners talked about where Ron is jealous of Cormac, and thinks Hermione is taking Cormac to Slughorn’s party.
I can’t wait to see Quidditch in this film. It’s the last we’ll see of it on the big screen, so they’ll probably pull out all the stops.

I thought Rupert said he was going to make the kiss with Lavendar…”enthusiastic”.
I can’t wait to see Ron reciprocate the kiss back. The only kiss we’ve seen is Lavendar attacking him like a hungry animal, with Ron’s arms flying out to the side and him, ‘WTF?!!!!” lol
I know this is old, but I thought it was cute how Rupert was saying how embarrasing it was to have just met Jessie, then having to kiss her amidst cheering Hogwarts students. lol Poor guy, he’s going to have to get used to the whole, “Hello, my name’s Rupert and I’ll be polishing your tonsils today,” and then promptly sticking his tongue down the actress’s throat. Kind of gives new meaning to the whole chant, ” Weasley is our King!”, doesn’t it?
