Gala: UPDATE: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Japanese Trailer!
January 23, 2009 – 11:27am: As we reported earlier, a new Japanese trailer for “Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince” featuring Rupert Grint is now online via YouTube. You can view it here. Rupert’s co-star Daniel Radcliffe introduces the bit and you can see plenty of new scenes: among them, several scenes with Jim Broadbent as Prof. Slughorn, Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, and the Death Eaters. Be aware that some of it is dubbed in Japanese, however you will be able to hear most of the dialogue — though unfortunately Rupert has none. While the Rupert scenes are rather limited, we do get to see the action shot of Ron and Harry gripping hands before the quidditch match as well as the party scene in action from another angle. We will hopefully have a downloadable version very shortly as well as our own screencaps. Thanks to The Leaky Cauldron for the tip!

My impressions:
Apparition scenes – meh. Poor CGE.
Jim Broadbent – magnificent!
Emma – still hyperventilating! (scenes @ Slughorn’s office, the toast…) At 2:10-2:12 she’s also doing her shoulder thingy. And her crying scene is lame. Blah she should have taken those acting lessons BEFORE they started filming HBP, not AFTER!!!

LOL I don’t like to be overly critical until I’ve seen the entire scene. The way they cut and paste, sometimes it’s just completely unfair to the actors. And I have to say, lots of people don’t like Gambon, but I do like him as Dumbledore, but he seems so funny here… the way he delivered that line… “Most people vomit their first time.” haha

LOL I keep thinking of everyone who logs on and sees the word “trailer” in the title and gets excited and then realizes, it’s just HBP. I’d probably do the same thing and then be all, “#%@#%#^^@!!” in the comments because it wasn’t the trailer we all want.

Nik, I’m more than willing to allow Emma to prove me wrong. I do hope her performance in HBP will be a lot better than in the previous two movies, I really do. Man, I’m a huge R/Hr shipper and I don’t want either Emma (or Rupert, for that matter) to spoil those R/Hr moments for me!

Well, thank you to the higher powers and all… but erhm…. I kinda meant the CB trailer!!! Damn it!

That. was. GREAT!! And the most dialogue we’ve heard yet from the movie.
Dumbledore’s line: “That was fun. Most people vomit the first time.” HAHA! Love it! I agree, Tao, I’m one of those people who love Gambon as Dumbledore. He’s definitely got his quirkiness down.
Draco’s scene in the bathroom…Tom looks great there, trembling and sweating. Looks like he’s going to be able to inspire actual sympathy for Malfoy.
Emma looks perfectly fine to me in the crying scene. She just saw some trick KISSING her beautiful, wonderful Ron. I’d be HOWLING in the corridor. Harry would have to come over and slap me, then shove a firewhisky in my hand to calm me down.
And yeah, more scenes with Ron and some dialogue from him would have taken the trailer from “great” to “AWESOME!”

You know what’s funny? I was always excited to see HP because of Rupert. It was basically the only thing to get excited about. DL aside, you know… really most of that was out during a non-Potter year. But now, I watch, and I’m happy rather than extremely excited. It’s like, okay, another Rupert movie! Yes!! Does that make sense?
Holy hell though, I had a CB dream!! I dreamt I was watching CB and I kept trying to see if I could hear Rupert’s Irish accent… and it was just, I couldn’t tell but he sounded like Robbie and all. It was weird. LOL

I’ve just been replaying that part of the trailer over and over. Ron looks so fierce and confident when he does it, I’m surprised Hermione doesn’t sweep the Cheeri-Owls off the table and do him right then and there in full view of the Great Hall.

Welcome Pete! *waves* I agree, I think we have been just so used to Ron/Rupert being thrown by the wayside the last few years that we get a little over annoyed when we don’t see him. hehe I’m just glad that we at least got a new Ron scene (even if brief) that rocked hardcore. I love his confidence in that.

I just looked at the screencaps. I can’t get enough of the Ron/Harry scene. And look at Hermione, she can’t take her eyes off him. His sudden confidence is sooo sexy. I can’t wait to see him “performing miracles” in that Quidditch match. I’ll probably cheer like an a-hole when he does his little victory pose on the broomstick.
