Gala: UPDATE: Meeting Rupert Grint; With Photo! Plus A New EA Golf Picture!
January 5th, 2009 5:40 PM–News has been a little slow again but thankfully one lucky fan who met Rupert near London last year took out some time to share her story with us! This meeting happened in October of 2008 but the photo is new to us! You may view it in our gallery here and to read her story click below.
Also thanks to the lovely Val for sending over the news to us! We also have some other Rupert updates soon. Yes we said soon!
UPDATE: We have a new picture of Rupert on the golf course, sort of. In this picture he is at the EA Golfing event and is riding an interesting golf cart. You may view this image here! And if you haven’t been, you can check out some other fan pictures on the forums here! (If you own these pictures and wish them not to be on our site, please let us know!)
“Well with my Orchestra, we were on the way back from our tour to Austria and Slovenia… and we stopped at a service station near London, (i forget which one) and on the way back from the toilets we spot him and get all excited and everything!
So me, Cally and Mary go up to him and ask for photos with him we have our cameras with us because of the trip and we just naturally carry them around with us. He let us take the pictures and asked where we were going and everything…
After he’d gone and driven off we’d been standing talking about it then I ran back to the coach to tell the people that didn’t get get off and on my way I tripped over. I was wearing flip flops… So a circular stone hit my foot and I now have a circular scar on my foot!!! And it wouldn’t stop bleeding, so I just put a plaster on it and stuff. But it got infected for ages but it’s fine now.”

That girl was sooo lucky. The one thing I loved about her story was the fact that Rupert actually showed interest in their plight by asking where they were going. He could have just smiled for a millisecond for that pic, and jetted, but it seems that he really does have a genuine appreciation for his fans. That is sooo admirable!!
Oh, and for those of us who are not quite eligible for the big girl (restricted section) yet, can we get minor teensy weensy hints of the Ruperty-goodness that goes on there (like the aforementioned posts that occured today!)
I’m gonna die with curiosity before I get access to that section, LOL!!

Whenever I read those stories, I imagine myself meeting Rupert for the first time by chance when I finally go to London again (last time I went, the first movie wasn’t even out and I hadn’t even read the books). It never goes smoothly, even in my daydreams (in my dreams, though, he falls for me and I am hesitant wth?). Anyway, I’d probably either be struck speechless or ramble nervously.
