Another Rupert Grint Rave Reviews Update: OotP Era!

As you all know, ICM staff never rests – even when the news are slow, we always have some Rupert Grint goodies for you, to help us cope with the news draught. Thus, I have just added 29 new/old reviews of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (starting from Entertainment Weekly), plus three of Driving Lessons and two of Goblet of Fire.

As for Order of the Phoenix, I must have read about 300 reviews, and all critics had nothing but nice words to say about Rupert, however most of them sing the same chorus:

“Rupert Grint is tragically underused.”
“It’s a shame to see Grint’s screen time so diminished.”
“Grint is a wonderful actor but he is given almost nothing to do.”  Etc. etc.

So it is not just us Rupert fans complaining about his reduced screen time in OotP, but the professional movie critics too! However, according to the test screenings reports, Rupert is given A LOT more to do in Half-Blood Prince, so hopefully we won’t have to sing the above chorus ever again…

Anyway, enjoy the read! And many thanks to our lovely Karin for taking time and trouble to find and/or translate some of the reviews.

good gosh, i just wish that if Rupert is ever been given enough time in HBP, he will too in DH.. Man, i hope they wouldn’t cut to much of Ron’s and the Weasleys, and Ron’s and Hermione’s aside in exchange of the Voldy plots and whatnot.. Im anxious!

November 29th, 2008 at 11:23 PM

I think a lot will depend on how much people like HBP. You know they will do what gets more fans and money, so if Rupert is what more people want, thats what we’ll get

OY! Will you please stop fighting? No one gives a damn about who’s using improper grammar. This isn’t English class.

Well it helps when reading someone’s comments. It’s annoying when the correct punctuation isn’t used. I’ve tried reading some posts like that and it gives me a headache.

Anyways, almost done with the spoiler thread. I should be hitting the test screening reports soon, but I will wait until tomorrow. Ize tired. lol

That reminds me….

Do you think this bit of the filming made the cut?

allocine Set Report:

Rupert and Emma, shot a scene before they broke for lunch, where they laughed a lot during a bit where Hermione asks Ron how he managed to break up with Lavender. Emma apparently kept suggesting different ways to do the scene described by the reporter as: “one is struck by the number of different nuances proposed by Emma “Hermione” Watson on this dialogue, a minute between friends (and future lovers)”

I hope so, too, but I don’t remember reading anything about it in the test screening reports. I could be wrong though.
