Another Rupert Grint Rave Reviews Update: OotP Era!

As you all know, ICM staff never rests – even when the news are slow, we always have some Rupert Grint goodies for you, to help us cope with the news draught. Thus, I have just added 29 new/old reviews of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (starting from Entertainment Weekly), plus three of Driving Lessons and two of Goblet of Fire.

As for Order of the Phoenix, I must have read about 300 reviews, and all critics had nothing but nice words to say about Rupert, however most of them sing the same chorus:

“Rupert Grint is tragically underused.”
“It’s a shame to see Grint’s screen time so diminished.”
“Grint is a wonderful actor but he is given almost nothing to do.”  Etc. etc.

So it is not just us Rupert fans complaining about his reduced screen time in OotP, but the professional movie critics too! However, according to the test screenings reports, Rupert is given A LOT more to do in Half-Blood Prince, so hopefully we won’t have to sing the above chorus ever again…

Anyway, enjoy the read! And many thanks to our lovely Karin for taking time and trouble to find and/or translate some of the reviews.

AJ, we have them all at R/E forums and there are tons. So where should I put them if I copy and paste them?

I am bored right now. So? At least I know how to use a space bar and punctuation properly. Dumb ass ho. Sarah, I can’t remember any of the other names you’ve used, but we know you are the same person. I know you will deny it too.

😀

I love reading the great reviews.

Always there for you Anonymous! Lookie:

Steve Kloves:

“And Rupert is a kind of genius. I really believe that. I think Rupert is someone who has made lines hysterical that, honestly, I don’t think are that funny.”

(Creative Screenwriting, November/December 2005)

“Of the three, the one who stole the show for me was Rupert Grint. His portrayal of Ron Weasley (who has always been my favourite character) was spot-on, and the kid is a bloody genius, plain and simple. Just look at his facial expressions throughout the movie; they are priceless—my favourite being the look he shoots Harry when Hermione first walks-into their train car, the first time they meet on the Hogwarts Express—and they’re sure to bring-out a laugh or two (or fifty).”

“First off, Rupert Grint is spectacular as Ron, who emerges as the strongest actor and character of the bunch – he carries the weight of the entire story on his thin shoulders, and does it with style. He’s moving out from under Harry’s shadow a bit – or trying to, at least, and yet his obvious affection for both Harry and Hermione (although in different degrees) is charming.”

“I cannot think of anyone else as Ron except for Rupert Grint, who in fact is the best actor out of all the whole bunch as far as the students go. His facial expressions are brilliant. Having had experience in theatre at a young age, he clearly knows to enunciate well.”

“I was especially impressed by the unvoiced acting by Rupert Grint as Ron – he has it tough as he must show jealousy throughout much of the film without a lot of dialogue.”

“As ever it’s left to Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) to hold it all together and outshine Daniel Radcliffe delightfully. He’s streaks and miles and eons etc. above the rest in terms of natural talent.”

“What surprised me is that Rupert Grint, as Ron, has turned into perhaps the best actor of the three leads. While Emma Watson is mercurial and enthusiastic as Hermione, Grint turns in the most shyly detailed performance and easily walks away with his scenes.”

“Rupert Grint as Ron redeems the trio, giving an endearing and worthy performance as the awkward adolescent with the even more awkward dress robes sent by his mother for the ball.”

Love, ICM

It is not the grammer, it is the fact that they even waste their time here. I have never once in all of my fandom commented on a DAN forum or site saying anything bad about him so why they do it here just shows their immaturity and lack of respect as individuals. If the Hp sites aren’t posting Rupert news then they come here on a site about him and still bash him. HATE man is just nasty and it makes you anonymous people nasty and disgraces the HP fandom.

Your arrogance is impressive,really.
Don’t worry,i don’t write fanfics and i not a H/HR shipper….Ivana, these are PERSONAL OPINIONS,others disagree and some are very old

AMEN SISTAH! I think they are scared now. They can feel that Rupert is about to surpass Dan in popularity. Uh oh!!!

And now talking about Dan and forums…oh,i’m a very bad person because i only said my opinion about the reviews*sarcasm*

We don’t want your opinion on reviews. They are reviews, what critics think. How can you have an opinion on someone’s opinion? We don’t care if you think Dan has improved most. We weren’t talking about him, this is not a Dan site. Go away Sarah.
