Good morning and good news! Seems like a beginning of another exciting week for Rupert fans! The Movie Fanatic has just released their Weekly Top 3 of young actors making the biggest buzz at the moment, and guess who’s captured the No. 3 spot? Rupert Grint! (The other two featured actors are Shia LeBeouf at No. 2 and Robert Pattinson at No. 1 – well deserved indeed!) According to TMF, the list is based on the hottest news about upcoming movies, awards and nominations, magazine covers and interviews, and special appearances on festivals, talk shows and upcoming TV series or just from anything that make fans more excited about movies. Here’s what they had to say about Rupert:

well.. I think Dan is actually a good actor.. he just is a VERY different kind of person than our Rupert. He just works his way differently! I love the Rupert does it – I so love that he is down to earth and actually a shy guy!
That only gives him the feel of reality and how hubmle, honest and unaffected he is by all the craziness of press, etc.

IMO Rupert likes to have a good time. But he doesn’t hang out at celebrity hang outs. He likes his pubs and hanging out with his friends. He doesn’t talk to the press unless he’s talking about his movies. Nothing really personal but an occasional mention of someone. In other words, he says enough.

What’s with all the Dan bashing? There are Rupert fans here that are also Dan fans. This is RUPERT news. I don’t get why the first few comments even mention Dan. Usually I expect a Dan mention after we’re bored with the exciting Rupert news and start going off topic, which is fine with me. I don’t mind a little actor bashing here and there even if it’s an actor I like but I don’t get why we’re on that straight off the mark. When Dan fans bash Rupert I always like to say that we’re much classier than them and they just bash us because of jealousy so it’s really hard to do that when I’m wrong.
Anyway, really great news about Rupert!! It’s going to be an exciting year coming up. Hopefully with 3 movies out in one year it means 3 times (or more) the promotion we got for DL.

LOL I started the whole Dan issue today, sorry! It wasn’t about bashing him (at least not this time lol). My point was that even Dan didn’t get considered for the Favourite Celeb of the Year list because of his movie roles (because he didn’t have any in 2008), but because of his publicity stunts, such as expressing his enthusiasm for transgender roles, snogging a male presenter at an awards ceremony, blabbing about his crush on male costars etc. Tabloids aren’t even interested in Dan’s acting in Equus, but only in the fact that he is naked.
These lists seriously suck, they praise celebs for behaving badly. I’d rather not see Rupert in the company of Pete Doherty, Peaches Geldoff and the likes. I like to see him getting recognition for his acting jobs, not for his drunken antics, that’s all.

About Dan and Emma, I’m an unapologetic fan of the HP movies, and I’ve built such an attachment to the WHOLE trio. I truly wish all of them success in whatever they do after HP. I don’t begrudge Dan and Emma the attention they receive either. Some are born great (Rupert) and some have greatness thrust upon them (Dan and Emma).
I’ve kinda been conditioned by young Hollywood to expect a spectacular crash and burn, and the fact that all three of them have for the most part avoided all that nonsense is a credit to them. After the Paris’s, the Nicole Richies, the Britneys, and the Lohans of the world, if the worst Emma does is attend a few fashion shows, then God bless her. Hell, if I had her money and her access, I’d be typing this from my hotel suite overlooking the Champs Elysees and picking out which Jimmy Choos to wear with the McQueen tomorrow.
