Many lucky fans got to see an ‘early preview’ of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince tonight in the Chicago area, courtesy of Warner Bros. A lot of these folks are posting their, sometimes very detailed, reviews on Mugglenet, The-Leaky-Cauldron, and IMDB to name a few places. In the comments below many people are posting spoilers copied from these reviews, so please enter at your own risk. All spoilers are Ron-centric and we hope to find a non-spoiler Rupert Grint offering.
Folks wanting to know about Rupert in this movie, but staying spoiler free, from the sounds of it the powers that be have been good to us and given Rupert a lot to do in this movie! According to the reviewers he has been given more screen time, and there are plenty of memorable Ron, Ron/Hermione and Ron/Hermione/Lavender scenes throughout the movie. Let’s hope they all make it into the final cut!
Thanks to Suzeeq, yweasley, Ki, Lilly and others for the tips and spoilers!

This from someone at imdb
“This is from someone at IMDB
“Also , i must say… the background music was just amazing, very beautiful…i think the best so far!!!
I absolutely loved the way all of Ron & Hermione’s romantic interludes and squirmishes were handled…they got some of the biggest laughs out of the audience… and talking abt laughs, this movie is definitely the funniest one so far..there were lots of humorous moments, and lots of inside jokes for those who have read the books!!! much much funnier than the Order of the Phoenix…”
Also from IMDB-same person
“Rupert and Emma were great – very funny.”
How much is Rupert in the film? I know not all the scenes, but I want to know if he’s in it as much as everyone has claimed from the WB.
From the Leaky report
“There was definitely tension between Ron and Hermione. In the very beginning at the Burrow, Ron cleans off a bit of toothpaste from Hermione’s cheek. Later in Slughorn’s class she describes what she smells in the love potion and trails off with “spearmint toothpaste…” Lavender is quite nauseating and although she never gives Ron a necklace she does something equally as vomit worthy, steaming up a window on the Hogwarts Express with her breath and drawing a heart with “R + L” inside it. His relationship ends when he is unconscious and moaning Hermione’s name after being poisoned. He remains confused about why it ended but very relieved.”

LOL Oh God, I wonder if Hermione sniggers at that! Like she smiles in the books when it ends…
God, the toothpaste thing sounds intense! *squee* They were so good in OotP with the subtle stuff, so this should be really interesting.
Hahahah, I won´t even comment about us, Suzeeq
Again from Leaky
” But the only game we saw was from the Felix Felicis chapter when Ron believes Harry has slipped him the potion. “
Heh! Great minds.
God, I want to hear more about the poison scene. It sounds wonderful. (Heh. That sounds so morbid, doesn’t it?
Does Hermione bewitch McLeggen? Or whatever. I can’t spell. lol These people need to be more thorough!
TLC:
“I am a huge fan of Ginny and Harry so I will start with them. There is a lot more Ginny than ever before. She nearly equaled Ron for screen time. ”
I think Kloves has another elect!Ginny the same time than Ron on HBP???
ron: had a constant presence. his relationships were a big part of the movie. hermoine was jealous of ron for going out with someone else and she and harry bonded with their jealousy. lavender was hilarious. when ron was poisoned it was very realistic – he was foaming at the mouth
imdb
i missed the leaky report, didn’t know about the toothpaste, R+L,
HE moans hermione name in front of lavender. WOWOW
HAMANAHAMANAHAMANA

Oops. I’ll stop. Too many of us posting the same thing. lol
I’m excited about that. I think Rupert’s going to get a lot of critic praise for HBP. At least it sounds like it to me, as long as they don’t cut any of this before July.
Ron was not as much of a jerk as in the book but kind of clueless. I was disappointed that they did not show on of my favorite scenes in the book when Ron and Ginny are fighting and she tells him that Hermione snogged Victor Klum which really sent him over the edge and eventually into Lavendar’s arms. But there are plenty of other good shippy Ron/Hermione scenes in the movie. Lavendar was perfectly cast!
IMDB
Ooooh!!! It’s sounding like dream come true for a huge R/Hr shipper like me!!
The toothpaste thing sounds so cute! And they kept “‘Er-my-knee!” Brilliant!!!
I like the “when Ron was poisoned it was very realistic”. Yep, sounds like our Rupert. He’s just good that way. lol
Oh, does he say it like that? Er-my-knee? I just saw he moans her name, but doesn’t actually say if he says it that way.
No, Tao. It doesn’t say how he says it.
